Chapter 26

The Student had their meeting till 5.00 pm. Everyone is completely exhausted when it actually ended. The other members are making their way out of the meeting room. Kiryuu Shori picks up his notebook and papers and was standing up as he heard Kuhouin Ryoki, the student council president let out a big sigh.

Shori: whats the matter, Kuhouin Oujisama?
Ryoki: (irritated) shori kun, how many times must i tell u.. u dont have to be formal with me.
Shori: how could i possibly do that in front of public.
Ryoki: now its just you and me here.
Shori: AND youre bestfriend, kyoya senpai.
Kyoya: (laughs) u can drop the senpai, shori.
Shori: mattaku, both of you... (heading out)
Ryoki: Shori kun, could u do me a favour?
Shori: eh?
Ryoki: can u please pick Haruki up from the middle school building? I still have matters to attend after this.
Shori: why me.... dont u have bodyguards or drivers?
Kyoya: well, ryoki and haruki kun decided to walk home with me today. But suddenly something came up.
Shori: (sweatdrop) etto... must i send him to the palace....?
Ryoki: take him to ur house. We'll pick him tonight, latest by 10 pm.
Shori: ....haa..... (worried)
Ryoki: dont worry Shori. Im sure he'll behave.
Shori: im not worried abt that... its just that... it has been 5 years since the last time i see him.

IN FRONT OF THE CLASSROOM

Shori enters the room and saw his bestfriend, Fukushima Shinichi was fast asleep on Shori's place. Light snores could be heard as Shori comes closer. He stares as Shinichi's unfrowned face and smiles.

Shori: (taps on his shoulder) shin, lets go home.

Shinichi wakes up.

Shinichi: (grunts) thts was late..
Shori: yeah, sorry bout that. Things come up unexpectedly.
Shinichi: (stretches)
Shori: haruki kun is coming over to the house.
Shinichi: haruki? (frowns)
Shori: stop frowning, shinichi. Yeah, kuhouin haruki, ryoki san's little brother.
Shinichi: why? (frowns more)
Shori: because they have something to attend to (looks at shinichi's irritated face) lets just hurry before it gets dark.

Shori pushes Shinichi out of the classroom.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BUILDING

There Kuhouin Haruki, the last child of the king and queen, sit on the edge of the fountain. Shori and Shinichi comes closer. The moment Haruki saw them, he stood up and lower his head slightly. His white hair stood out so much that immediately Shori could recognize him.

Shori: haruki?
Haruki: (nods)
Shori: havent seen you for long eh?
Haruki: we just met few weeks ago. (Softly)
Shori: eh? When?
Haruki: (looks away) ....... sports festival... with oneesama..
Shori: sou da! Sorry for forgetting. Shall we go?

During their way home from school, Kuhouin Haruki didnt even utter a single word. Kiryuu Shori had him wear a cap since he will attract a lot of attention due to him being the youngest prince of the country. The three boys did drop by few shops to buy groceries and a packet of cookies for Kiryuu Ken, who's waiting at home. As they arrived home, Shori brings his guest to the western style living room. Shinichi slumps himself on the soft sofa, placing his arm on his eyes intending to take a short nap there. Shori serves Haruki a hot cup of green tea. Haruki took a sip. Shori noticed haruki's face about to cry. Shori moves to sit next to Haruki. The sound of the sofa awakens Shinichi and he lifts his arm a little bit to see whats happening.

Shori: haruki, who am i to you?
Haruki: eh? ..osana na jimi..?
Shori: iie, besides that. What am I to you? Who do u regard me in ur life?
Shinichi: (glares as Shori)

Haruki's eyes is about to flow with tears as he says

"...o...oniisan..."

He makes himself fall on Shori's chest as Shori gently rubs his head and his back, calming him down. Haruki continues to cry his heart off. Shori did not even bother to silence him from crying. He just nods, rubbing his cheek on Haruki's soft hair. Shinichi turns his back towards them to hide his irritated face.

Shori: ii yo, cry as much as u want, haruki.

A MOMENT LATER

Haruki rubs off the last drop of tears from his face, though he still sniffles due to lots of crying. Ken has a box of tissue in his arms, sitting in front of Haruki. Finally haruki smiles as he sees Ken looking at him with a worried face.

Haruki: (ruffles Ken's hair) im fine now, arigatou.. etto..?
Ken: Ken! Im kiryuu Ken, 6 years old.
Haruki: hai, ken chan. Im kuhouin haruki, a third year in middle high school.
Shori: third year? How old are u, haruki?
Haruki: im 13 years old this year.
Shori: ho (amazed) sasuga the prodigy child.
Haruki: (awkwardly smile) ara, u heard abt tht..?
Shori: its true though. U start speaking when u were 3.
Haruki: (face change)
Shori: whats wrong, haruki?
Haruki: its... actually about ani ue..
Shori: ryoki san? Nanda.. ure actually sulking becoz he cant make it for today?
Haruki: (shook his head) iie desu.
Shori: ??
Haruki: since i was small, i always felt a distance between us. It starts on the day misa ane ue got missing. Ever since, ani ue has been so different. And i cant just talk to my parents about it.
Shori: so u have been keeping it in for these 5 years?
Haruki: (hurts) what can i do Shori oniisan... ever since that day, uve never come n play in the castle..
Shori: oh... gomen... (guilt)
Haruki: its okay oniisan, i can understand the pain tht uve went through at tht time. To keep myself occupied, i engrossed myself in studies.
Shori: no wonder u jumped so many classes.. (sigh) i dont know haruki. Things has changed so much from that time. Iie, im wrong. Many things had happened during that short period of time tht i dont have time to think why does it happen. They happened all at once that im actually lost in this current life.
Haruki: shori oniisan...
Shori: luckily i have shinichi by my side. He's always there when im down n need company.
Haruki: (glance at the sleeping shinichi) (smiles) thts good to hear shori oniisan. I had no idea what has to be done from my side. Thts why i thought if i get mature earlier, ill be able to understand......
Shori: did u (seriously asking)
Haruki: (shooks his head) im so confused...
Shori: (hugs Haruki) dont think abt it too much okay? If u have any problem, know tht im always here. U can even come n meet me at school or here. This place is open for you, haruki. (Smiles)
Haruki: (smiles) arigatou shori oniisan (hugs tightly)

Shinichi glares at both of them.

Shori: haha! Ure awake, shinichi?
Shinichi: che!
Haruki: sou da shori oniisan! Remember that oneesan tht was with u during the sport festival?
Shori: eh... dare?
Haruki: oneesama with a white dress!
Shori: ah, koizumi?
Haruki: sou sou. Is she the same class as you?
Shori: yeah why?
Haruki: (smiles) iie nandemonai yo!
Shori: hey, tht sounds fishy.
Haruki: i wanna meet her again, can i? She reminds me of misa ane ue.
Shori: (taken back)
Haruki: shori?
Shori: ah.. haha.. sou na. U can drop my class of u wanna see her.
Haruki: yaay! Arigatou, shori oniisan!
Shori: let me tell u in advance, she is kyoya san's little sister.
Haruki: eehh? Kyoya oniisan's? Ani ue's bestfriend?
Shori: yup. Koizumi yuu is her name.
Haruki: yuu oneesama ka. (Smiles)

The door bell chimes indicating someone at the front gate of the house. Ken ran and anwer the intercom.

Ken: sho chaan! I think its for Haruki oniisan.
Haruki: eh? Ani ue?
Shori: tht was fast.

The two of them get up leaving the living room. Shinichi heads towards his room. Haruki took his bag and Shori accompanied him to front gate.

Shori: tht was fast. U said ull be coming at 10
Ryoki: i said latest, shori kun. (smiles) Did u behave, Haruki?
Haruki: um.. hai.. ani ue.
Ryoki: i really appreciate this, shori kun. Arigatou.
Shori: iie iie, it has been a while since i last met Haruki, so it was a great oppoturnity, na haruki?
Haruki: (nods) ah..hai.
Shori: how r u going home? Walking?
Ryoki: (points outside) driver.
Shori: okay, mata ne, haruki.
Haruki: arigatou gozaimassu, shori oniisan. Mata kondou desu.
Shori: yeah!

The two princes ride the black car and went away.

Chapter 25

The teacher is busy explaning in front of the whiteboard. Once the teacher finished explaining, she calls for Asahina Mikan to work out the problem on the board. Asahina Mikan stood up. She took few steps forward and she stopped. She looks at the whiteboard and sees the writings on the board are all jumbled up. Her brain blackens out and she fell down. But before she could fall on the ground, Fukushima Shinichi managed to grab her since he was the nearest to her.

IN THE INFIRMARY

Asahina Mikan finally wakes up. She felt somethng cold and wet on her forehead. She removes the towel from her forehead and sits up. There she saw Fukushima Shinichi sitting next to the window, looking outside. His face looks irritated.

Mikan: You dont have to wait here if u dont want to.
Shinichi: Shori told me to stay here since the nurse is not here.

Not a word did they utter after that short conversation. 5 minutes later, the door of the infirmary slides open. The first person to come inside in none other than a second year lunar student, Ohno Taisuke. Followed by Kiryuu Shori and Koizumi Yuu and Hamano Hikari.

Taisuke: daijoubu, Mikan?
Mikan : taisuke senpai... (shocked to see him) daijoubu... desu..
Shori: (walks towards Shinichi) whats with the irritated face?
Shinichi: u better know how to repay this.
Shori: haha! Wakatta ze, arigatou. (pats Shinichi's shoulder)
Shinichi: hmph!
Yuu: Mikan chan? Doshita no? Genki nai mitai..
Taisuke: (places his palm on mikan's forehead) ur fever still hasnt gone down yet. I've already spoken to narumi. You can go back to ur room.
Shori: narumi sensei?
Taisuke: your homeroom teacher, ohno narumi. (helps mikan)
Yuu: mikan chan, should i get ur bag?
Mikan: tanomu wa... i need them.
Yuu: wakatta. Ill go get them.

Yuu walks away to fetch asahina mikan's bag in their classroom. While waiting, Ohno Taisuke sits next to Asahina Mikan on the bed.

Taisuke: if ure tired , u can lay down if u want.
Mikan: ii desu.. yuu chan will be here any minute.
Taisuke: this must be because u overwork urself. Didnt they say u can just take it easy?
Mikan: im not overworking myself.
Taisuke: (ruffles her hair) stubborn arent u, mikan?
Shori: ah! So uve been working on the chrome controlling device?
Mikan: (nodded)
Taisuke: (clicks tongue) tch! U really shouldnt have agreed to help them. See what happened now.
Mikan: its okay, taisuke senpai. Its my duty. Now is the only time where i can use my chrome in a proper way.
Taisuke: well thats true but...
Mikan: daijoubu, im fine senpai.
Shori: (in deep thinking)
Mikan: kiryuu kun, im telling u im fine. So dont say unrelevant things.
Shori: (laughs to hide his thinking)

A while later, Yuu arrives with Hamano Hikari and her bag. Ohno Taisuke ordered Kiryuu Shori and Fukushima Shinichi to return to their classes while asks Koizumi Yuu and Hamano Hikari to help Mikan get back to the dorm.

IN FRONT OF THE DORM BUILDING

Taisuke: Mikan can tell you the way to her room.
Yuu: hai
Mikan: senpai!
Taisuke: (turns to Mikan)
Mikan: a... arigatou (lowers down her head and her bangs hides her embarassed eyes)
Taisuke: (turns heading the school) dont sweat. Its my duty afterall.

After Ohno Taisuke left, mikan leads them verbally to her room.

Hikari: so this is ur room. Wow (fascinated)
Yuu: its clean and neat but... (holds pieces of metal junks)
Mikan: please ignore the junks... -_-||
Hikari: well, they didnt call you the young genuis mechanic for nothing.

The two girls help Mikan to lay down on her bed. Hikari offered to help her change her clothes. Mikan indicated towards her cupboard, Hikari went and pick the most light for her to wear. Yuu proceed to the kitchen to make a simple porridge. Once theyre all settle, the girls sat next to Asahina Mikan on her bed.

Hikari: oishii ka, mikan chan?
Yuu: hikari chaan (pouts) whats thts suppose to mean
Hikari: jodan jodan da yo
Mikan: oishii da yo.
Yuu: hehe. I have my cooking duties at home. One day would be me and another day would be my oniichan
Hikari: heeh! Koizumi senpai cooks?
Yuu: so da yo
Hikari: kakkoiii!! Koizumi senpai is a perfect person ive ever meet.
Yuu: hikari chan... we're talking abt my oniichan da yo.
Hikari: shitteru yo. (smiles)
Mikan: done. Arigatou yuu chan, hikari chan.
Yuu: hai, mizu (hands a glass of water)
Mikan: arigatou.
Hikari: do u live alone in this room?
Mikan: no, every room has 2 or 3 roommates. Luckily there are only two of us in this room.
Hikari: a senpai?
Mikan: (nods)
hikari: i bet u two dont speak tht much.
Mikan: how do u know?
Hikari: coz when u fainted, ohno sensei told us to call ohno taisuke senpai. He didnt ask to call ur roommate.
Mikan: oh, sou?
Yuu: chotto chotto..

The two girls turns towards yuu

Yuu: ohno... sensei and.. ohno.. senpai... are they related?
Mikan: sou da yo. Taisuke senpai is narumi sensei's younger brother. Though narumi sensei is a normal human, taisuke senpai is affected by the chrome virus.
Yuu: ahh... sou ka...
Mikan: taisuke senpai has always taken care of me since i admitted into Chrome academy. (slight smile)
Hikari: heeh! I can see he really dotes on you.
mikan: he's like an oniisan to me.
Yuu: thts good. its nice to have someone to depend on sometimes.
Mikan: sou ne.
Hikari: okay, mikan chan go sleep and rest. We have to go back to class.
Yuu: ah, sou yo. I forgot abt classes!
Mikan: (laughs)
Hikari: mattaku yuu chan..
Yuu: (tongue out) ehe!
Mikan: arigatou ne, futari tomo.

The two girls smile and said in a sync

"Mochirun, tomodachi deshou?"

Yuu: jaa ne, mikan chan. Get well soon.
Hikari: mata ashita.
Mikan : bye bye.

The two close the door gently and Mikan wraps herself under the blanket.

AT CLASS

Yuu and Hikari arrives at their classroom. Luckily the time they enter, there was no teacher.

Tsuyoshi: ah, theyre back. (hands over a notebook to hikari shyly)
Hikari: eh?? Nani ?
Tsuyoshi: notes.... (embarassed) from the previous class...
Shori: just hope thts readable (chuckles)
Tsuyoshi: what did u say dammitt!?
hikari :ano, arigatou kitayama kun (blushes)
Tsuyoshi :um (taken back) oh, its no big deal really. (averts eye away)

Shori: here, u can borrow mine koizumi san. (earnestly)
Yuu: eh... (shocked)
Shori: i think its much more easy to understand compared to tsuyoshi's
Tsuyoshi: u picking a fight, koraa?!!
Shori: (laughs)
Yuu: (smiles) un, arigatou Kiryuu kun. Though i think my brother can teach me (innocent)
Shori: (heart stroked) aah..... yeah... youre right na... (disappointed)
Yuu: ??

Asahina Mikan has fully recovered and she attends school the very next day.

LUNCH

Everyone stares at what are on their picnic cloth.

Shori: 2 boxes of bento from asahina?
Tsuyoshi: what are inside?
Mikan: something as a repay for all of you. I baked them last night.
Hikari: (excited) waah! Something made by the the young genuis mechanic, asahina mikan chan! Im so excited!!

Hikari opens both boxes and sees over burnt cookies in them. All of them froze.

Hikari: mi..mi....mi...kan chan.... may i ask whats this....
Mikan: its cake. Its too big so i had to cut them into pieces.

Again everyone froze.

"C...cakee?? Cut into pieces??"

Tsuyoshi: i..im sure it wont be that bad...

Tsuyoshi took one of the so called piece of cake and take a bite. Everyone stares at him and gulped.
Tsuyoshi froze, his jaw drops and the piece of cake still remains intact.

"It... its hard.." says everyone in their synchronize heart.

Suddenly a robot made its appearence and a 'ting' was heard from its belly. Its belly opens up like the microwave lid. They could smell nice fragrance of baked cookies from it.

Shori: now that looks edible.
Mikan: its one of my creation, microwave san.

Everyone stares at Mikan as she touches the robot called microwave san.

"She cant bake but yet she can create something that can bake better than her........"

Chapter 24

In the cafe, the bell rings as customers enter the shop. Politely Kitayama Tsuyoshi turns towards the customer and says

"Irasshai maseeen"

FLASH BACK

Tsuyoshi: (rage) demo guild masterrrr, nande i have to work C class's missions?? Is it because i failed my mission?

The guild master of Kitayama Tsuyoshi's guild is Ganz Silverlake.

Ganz: (kicks) arrogant kid! Whats wrong of doing lower level mission.
Tsuyoshi: but guild masteeerrr (howls)
Ganz: shut up and just do it, kid!!
Tsuyoshi: T_T

The rest of the guild members who watched the scene chuckles amongst them.

END FLASHBACK

Tsuyoshi: [im so gonna kick their asses soon] (tears)

The bell hanging on the entrance door jingles.

Owner: Kitayama kun!
Tsuyoshi: hai, coming!

Tsuyoshi rushes towards the new customers seat. He took out his small notebook and his pen before hand and walks charmingly towards the seat.

Tsuyoshi: may i take ur..... (stopped as he sees the customers)... or...der..

Tsuyoshi literally froze as he knows the customers personally. Out of shock, he accidently dropped his notebook and pen on the table. The girl gently took the book and hands it over to him.

Hikari: (smiles) hai, ur notebook fell, Kitayama kun.

Stuttered and unable to react to the cuteness of Hamano Hikari, his stiff standing made the owner to be suspicious. Quickly before the owner noticed what has happened, he regain his self control and smile charmingly at his two customers.

Tsuyoshi: may i take ur orders, young ladies?
Yuu: fuu, he said young ladies (control her laughter) cant believe kitayama kun can be this neat.
Hikari: yuu chan, dont be nasty to kitayama kun.
Yuu: (tongue out) gomen nasai ne, kitayama kun
Tsuyoshi: (controls his self composure)

Tsuyoshi jotted down what the girls wanted and made his leave to the kitchen. He walks straight to his locker, buried himself into his bag of clothes and screams his lung out. Though the other workers couldnt hear his scream, they are suspicios over his actions. Once he's done transferring his stress to his bag, he closes his locker with a bang and walks confidently towards to kitchen to serve their orders.

Tsuyoshi carries the tray towards Hikari's seat and gently puts down the plates of cakes and glasses of drink without a single sound.

Hikari: wow, ure actually very gentle kitayama kun.
Tsuyoshi: (skip a heartbeat) arigatou hamano san.
Yuu: waa!! Oishii yo, hikari chan. Mite mite.
Tsuyoshi: and the way to eat it is like this (pouring the caramel over the cake)

As Tsuyoshi pours the caramel on the cake, he has his hand behind his back, like a proper butler. Hikari skip a heartbeat. As she places her palm on her cheeks, she could feel the heat on her cheek. She continues staring as Kitayama Tsuyoshi who has his bangs arranged nicely on his forehead.

Hikari: [aahh.. he didnt put on his headband today]

Yuu: hikari chann!

Yuu's calling startled Hikari. Both Yuu and Tsuyoshi looks at Hikari who still has her hands on her cheek.

Tsuyoshi: are u okay, hamano san? Ur face is red (concerned)

Without a single thought from tsuyoshi's side, he places his big palm on Hikari's forehead, making her face even redder and hotter. She immediately stood up and excused herself to the bathroom. Yuu snickered. She glance towards Tsuyoshi who still stood there. Tsuyoshi stared at his palm which touches Hikari's forehead. His face flushed in a sudden. Again Yuu chuckles.

Yuu: daijoubu yo, Kitayama kun. Hikari chan is just fine. U can continue ur work.
Tsuyoshi: un...

Tsuyoshi obeyed koizumi yuu. But instead he went to his locker again and buried his face in his bag. His head is in a chaos.

Tsuyoshi: [i cant possibly look at her at school on monday...... baka me!! What have i doneeee!! Aaahhhhhhh]

MEANWHILE

Hamano Hikari is still in the bathroom. After washing her face couple of times, the heat still didnt go away. He looks at herself on the mirror. Her face is still red.

Hikari: aah... baka watashi... what have i done.....

NEXT DAY

The bell jingles indicating that a new customer had just enetered the cafe. The owner calls for Kitayama Tsuyoshi and he goes for the costumer. As usual, as he is walking towards the table, he took out his small notebook and his pen. Once he arrived at the table, composely he asks

Tsuyoshi: may i take ur........ (stopped).... or..der...

The customer smirks.

Shori: deja vu? (smirks)
Tsuyoshi: what the heck are u doing here? (lowering his voice)
Shori: Koizumi san told me.
Tsuyoshi: thts girrlll! (grits his teeth)
Shori: dont blame the poor girl. They were just happy that u finally got over with ur depression last week..
Tsuyoshi: my depression..? Last week?

The scene where he advices the girls about Shori and Shinichi on the rooftop pops out in his mind.

Shori: yeah, they were very worried to see you aimlessly walks around the school. When they saw u energatic here yesterday, they were so happy and relieved.
Tsuyoshi: heh. Those girls. (smiles)
Shinichi: oi, arent u taking our orders?
Tsuyoshi: ahh! May i take ur orders?

Both Ken and Shinichi ordered whatever they want. Shori just asks for a hot steamy green tea since he dislikes cakes. Tsuyoshi jotted down their orders and turn around.

Shori: dont forget the cake that koizumi san asked for yesterday. I wanna see you pouring the caramel like a gentleman. (chuckles)
Tsuyoshi: [again she blab useless things. Grrr ]

ONE WEEK PASSED WITH TSUYOSHI WORKING IN THAT CAFE

Ganz: hohoho!! Finally tsuyoshi kun, thanks a bunch for helping me doing that mission.
Tsuyoshi: (compose) iie, guild master. Im very grateful that i went for that mission. I learnt a lot from it and gain so much of experience.
Ganz: hohohoho! Good good! Because noone wants to take tht mission so thts why i pass it to u.
Tsuyoshi: whaaa!!?? It has nothing to do abt my failure on ny last mission?
Ganz: haaaa? Did i even say anything abt that? (walks away)
Tsuyoshi: come back here old man!! U refused on giving me to do A class mission bcoz of thaaattt!?
Ganz: what? Is there any problem with tht? Do u know tht even the management have their own problems to think about? Haa?
Tsuyoshi: the heck do i care abt that!! Return back my precious moments!!
Ganz: you ungrateful kidd!! Didnt u just say that u gain so much of experience from itt!!?
Tsuyoshi: (blushes till his ears) i dont wnna hear that from u, u old maaan!!

As the two argues with each other, a young girl enters the guild.

"Nihihihii!! This place looks fun!"

Ganz Silverlake, the guild master and Kitayama Tsuyoshi turns towards the girl. Ganz pushes Tsuyoshi towards her.

Tsuyoshi: may i help you? (unconciously)
Ganz: (snorted)
Tsuyoshi: (turns to ganz with a killer's gaze)
Mai Hao: im Cheng Mai Hao and im 16 years old. This guild looks fun so i wanna join in!! Yoroshiku! Nihihihi.

Chapter 23

Its 9 pm at night. The night was silent. Kiryuu Ken groans. He moves facing his right side. Another minute he tosses towards the opposite side. And another minute he changes again. At last, he sits up and crawls off the queen sized bed. He walks through the corridor while rubbing his sleepy eyes with his soft knuckles. As he was walking, the sound of the bamboo stick filling the water could be heard. He walks till he reached the tatami room. He slides the door open and found Shori sitting on the roka with his yukata rests nicely on his back.

Ken: sho chan.... (sleepy) what r u doing...?
Shori: (turns) ken? (Smiles and indicated to ken to come)
Ken: (falls on shori's lap) sho chan..?
Shori: im looking at the moon.
Ken: moon? (looks at the sku with his sleepy eyes) but theres no... moon...zzzZzzzZzz (fell asleep)

Shori chuckles as he sees Ken falls into a deep sleep on his lap. He pulls him softly as to warm him with the warmth of his body. He continues looking at the dark blue sky tht has no moon.

Shori: (whispers) "Even if you cant see the moon, know that the moon is always there watching you"

NEXT DAY

Yuu: aaahhh (exclaimed in a shock)
Shori: -_-|| what..... ?
Yuu: ur face is horrible, kiryuu kun.... ^_^¦¦¦
Hikari: sou yo. U dont look so good..
Shori: leave me alone... (walks aimlessly towards his seat)
Hikari: (whispers) i wonder what happened...
Yuu: sou ne... he doesnt look normal...

As the girl watch at the soulless Kiryuu Shori, Kitayama Tsuyoshi passes by them. Hikari calls for him. But as he turns towards Hikari, to her suprise, his pupil cant be seen in his eyes.

Hikari: O_o...... what happened to you... too....
Tsuyoshi: (slump) i failed at my mission... and theyre gonna decrease my glory points...
Yuu: eh? Game desu ka?
Hikari: -_-|| no yuu chan. Its his guild.
Yuu: oh! Yeah, hes still working in the guild.
Hikari: kitayama kun!

The soulless Tsuyoshi looks at Hikari. She smiles angelically.

Hikari: dont mind, ne?

The thermometer of his heart reached the maximum and he burst out of excitement. Blood starts flowing down from his nose. Hikari panicked.

Hikari: ahh! Kitayama kun! Your nose is....

Tsuyoshi wipes beneath his nose with his index finger and looked at it. Immediately he stood up and ran to the toilet.

Hikari: mou... whats happening to these guys...

HOMEROOM SESSION

The homeroom teacher, Ohno Narumi calls out for attendance.

Narumi: Kiryuu
Shori: hai
Narumi: Kitayama
Kitayama: .. hai....
Narumi: whts wrong kitayama?
Kitayama: T_T senseiiiii.... i dont wanna study today....
Narumi: yare yare, kitayama. Then u shld just stay at home if u dont want to come to school.
Hikari: -_-|| ...what kind of advice is he giving...
Narumi: Fukushima

Silence.

Narumi: fukushima? Is he not here?
Student: his bag is not here sensei.
Narumi: wakatta. (calls the next student)

Yuu finally understood something and she glanced at Shori who is sitting next to the window. His face is facing outside and she could feel the loneliness atmosphere around Shori.

LUNCH TIME

Yuu: hikari chan... i know why Kiryuu kun's looking down today..
Hikari: nande? (bites on her onigiri)
Yuu: fukushima kun is not with him today.. do u think something happened between them?
Hikari: yuu chan, shinpai na no?
Yuu: (reddens) iie... sh.. shinpai nai yo... tada..
Hikari: tada? (Snicker)
Yuu: mou yuu chan! Its just not kiryuu kun.
Hikari :daijoubu daijoubu. Kiryu wont change his attitude to others just because of his personal problems.
Yuu: chigau yo!! But its kind of depressing ur own friend sad and u cant even do anything for him...
hikari: (closes her bento box) yoshi! Lets go
Yuu: eh where?
Hikari: to ur first love sight scene. (Winks)
Yuu: eh??

The sound of the ball thumping on the court could be heard. A second later, the sound of a ball sliding through the net could br heard. Hikari and Yuu arrived at the empty basketball court. There Kiryuu Shori stood alone on the three point shoot arena with a ball on his hand. He dribbles on the spot, aims and shoot. The ball went in the net without touching the net railing. Both of them stood at the spectators area above.

Yuu: sugoi!
Hikari: do u remember the day when u first come to school?
Yuu: of coz.

The scene of Kiryuu Shori and Fukushima Shinichi playing on the court during the Sports Event starts playing in her mind.
As she was looking at Kiryuu Shori, she noticed something.

Yuu: ..... ryu...
Hikari: ?? Did u say something?
Yuu: his form looks like a broken dragon..
hikari: (confused) haa? What do u mean..?

Yuu dashes out of the building. Hikari runs after her. Shori noticed the footsteps sound and look upwards.

Hikari : (out of breath) chotto.. yuu chan... where r u going?

Yuu is busy looking around like a fierce falcon looking for its prey. She went to the classroom but quickly walks away from there since whatever she's looking for is not there. Finally she went up to the rooftop, where they always have their lunch.
Unfortunately there is noone on the rooftop. Unsatisfied she heads towards the exit to search somewhere else. Suddenly Hikari grabbed Yuu's hand, stopping her to go.

Yuu: hikari chan?
Hikari: i think the person ure looking for is up here.

Hikari points her finger towards the other end of the rooftop tht is shaded. Both of them went there and saw Kitayama Tsuyoshi laying there with both his palm as the pillow. Tsuyoshi was shocked to see Hamano Hikari. He jolted and sit up straight. His face is red till the ears.

Tsuyoshi : ha.. hama..no...san...? (stuttered)
Yuu: ah!! Kitayama kun (comes closer) where is fukushima kun?
Tsuyoshi : eh.. eh? Why are u asking me? How should i know?
Yuu: datte.... u are their closefriend right..? So u ought to have some kind of idea...
Tsuyoshi: (hesitated) aahh.... dou ka na...
Hikari: kitayama kun, onegai yo. (cute pout)

Tsuyoshi's heat almost reached the maximum point but he managed to control his nose from bleeding by averting from looking at Hikari.

Tsuyoshi: [ka..kawaiiiiii!! ] jitsu ha sa... every month, shinichi has to go back to his real house in Helencia City. And he usually stays there for 3 days maximum. Thts why he's absent today since this is that time of the month.
Hikari: eh? Helencia City?
Tsuyoshi: Dont you know? Shinichi is the son of the current prime minister.

Both girls looked at one another and shriek, surprised at the statement tht Tsuyoshi just said.

Hikari: pr... prime minister..?
Yuu: uso...
Tsuyoshi: uso jane yo. Anyway, (stood up) u two dont have to worry much abt them. Its nice that ure worried abt them but dont worry. Theyre inseparable.
Hikari: (smiles) sou yo ne.
Yuu: un (agrees)
Tsuyoshi: [ooh, i can feel myself being cool. Way to go me. So hurry n fall for me, hamano san ] (brushes his hair) umm, now thts solved, lets talk about another problem. How bout (turns around to find them gone) eeehhhhh!! Wheeennnn???

The girls had already went down the stairs and had their spirit lift up, thanks to kitayama Tsuyoshi, though he didnt notice that. He is still on the rooftop depressed for losing his chance to make hamano hikari having a bigger impression on him.

2 DAYS LATER (AT NIGHT)

Ken goes out of his room to find Shori sitting on the roka with his yukata on his back.

Ken: (sleepy) sho chan....?
Shori: (smiles) again, cant sleep?
Ken: un..... (walks slowly towards shori)
Shori: come here
Ken: (sits on shori's lap) is the moon there tonight ?

Someone slides open the door and says

"Even if you cant see the moon, know that the moon is always there watching you"

Both Ken and Shori turns towards the sliding door and saw Fukushima Shinichi standing there with a smile.

Shinichi: tadaima, Shori. Matte ta ka?
Shori: (smiles) okaeri, shin.

Chapter 23 (characters info)

THIRD YEAR

-Kuhouin Ryoki : Helencia Prince eldest prince. Koizumi Kyoya's best friend and knows Kiryuu Shori since he was small.

-Koizumi Kyoya : one of the top 10 students. The prince's bestfriend and childhood friends. Known kiryuu shori since he was small. Lives with his little sister in a big apartment. Lost his parents when he was 13

- Kiryuu Shori : The main character. The fire emperor. Always has his neck bandaged for some reason. Lives in a big house with his bestfriend, Fukushima Shinichi, and his little cousin,kiryuu Ken. His parents went missing when he was 10. A childhood friend of the princess of helencia, kuhouin misaki.

- Fukushima Shinichi : Kiryuu Shori's bestfriend and a shadow emperor. Dotes on shori till people think tht he is more than just friends to shori. The son of the prime minister of Helencia City.

- Kitayama Tsuyoshi : a member of a guild in Helencia Central Town. A street fighter who fights with his body parts only. Received black belt for both karate and judo. A friend to Shori and Shinichi. Fell for love at first sight for Hamano Hikari

- Koizumi Yuu : A new student at Helencia Gakuen. An ice emperor and the little sister of Koizumi Kyoya. Lost her parents when she was 10. Resembles a lot to the missing princess, kuhouin misaki. Looks up for Kiryuu Shori.

- Hamano Hikari : Yuu's bestfriend and a wind emperor. The second daughter of a professional fashion designer and a business man. Has two little siblings who looks like twin though they are a year apart. Has no interest in love but has little feeling for kitayama tsuyoshi.

- Kazunari Ryotarou : a playful sneaky boy. Has a tree making chrome.

- Ohno Taisuke : a serious boy. Has an animal summoning chrome. Dotes on Asahina Mikan as his little sister.

- Shiraishi Sakura : The chrome hime and one of the representative of chrome students. Has a sakura blizzard chrome.

FIRST YEAR

- Asahina Mikan : befriends Yuu and Hikari as they are in the same class. Has a machine making ability. Intelligent and on par with Kiryuu Shori.

- Kuhouin Shinou : The king of Helencia.

- Kuhouin Rena: The queen of Helencia. Kuhouin Shinou's second cousin.

- Kuhouin Ryoki : eldest son

- Kuhouin Misaki : the second daughter. Went missing on her 10th birthday party in an accident. Known as The Missing Princess.

- Cheng Jun Hao : a chrome police officer who takes care of casea related to Chromes. Mai's elder sister. A full chinese. Around 20s

- Cheng Mai Hao : JunHao's little sister. A year elder than Yuu. An earth emperor. Joins the same guild as Kitayama Tsuyoshi in Helencia Central Town.

- Sabaku Natsuki : once fought against shori and once fought alongside shori and his friends. A tough girl but yet sensitive n coward. A metal emperor. A year elder than Shori and his friends.

- Ohno Narumi : 1st year, class 1's homeroom teacher. Also incharge of the welfare of thr lunar students who lives in the dorm. Ohno taisuke's big brother. Somehow he was the kouhai of shori's parents so he knows them. Youngest teacher so far and only in his early 20s.

- Ganz Silverlake : Kitayama Tsuyoshi's guild master. In his 40s. Owns the guild called, Silver Lake.




The entire land is called Helencia Kingdom. It is divided into 2 regions, Helencia City and Helencia Central Town.

Helencia City - where normal humans live and have their normal life. Helencia Gakuen is situated here.

Helencia Central Town - where the chromes and magicians live. Have lots of guilds and the main castle is situated here.

Lunar students are chrome users who lives in the dorm. THey are not allowed to come out of the school compound. Need special permission if they want to go beyond the school compound

Solar students are normal students and mostly are from rich and potential families. Most of them dislike the Lunar Students and felt that they dont deserve to enroll in their school.

Emperors and Chromes info are discussed in chapter 22.

Chapter 22

Koizumi Yuu stares at the empty school courtyard as Kiryuu Shori and Fukushima Shinichi disappears from her sight. Her mind couldnt digest everything that had happened so far. She took a step back and leans her back on the wall. She let out a big sigh as her brother Koizumi Kyoya approaches.

Kyoya: yuu chan, u look depressed. What happened?
Yuu: (shocked) oniichan...
Kyoya: (smiles) did something happen in class?
Yuu: (remembers Shori's words earlier) iie, nandemonai yo, oniichan..
Kyoya: saa. Lets go back.

Yuu nodded.

IN SHORI'S HOUSE

Shori slumped himself on the living room's couch. Shinichi flung a small towel on Shori's head.

Shori: (complains) ah.... this is so mixed up....
Shinichi: what is?
Shori: everything... why is everything happening now....
Shinichi: u cant ask such question darou. Everything will come up on the surface one day so let it be.
Shori: (wipes his head) demo na, shin... why does all this have to happen to me..?
Shinichi: (sits next to shori and placed his hand on shori's shoulder) if this has to happen to someone else, he will also ask the same question right?
Shori: (looks at shinichi and smiles) im relieved i have u as a friend.
Shinichi : im glad i have u to be my friend, shori.

Shori sunks himself on shinichi's upper arm, taking comfort from his mid embrace.

Shinichi: u can go sleep on the bed if u want to. U couldnt sleep last night right?
Shori: its okay. Let me take a nap here. Attatakai yo... (fell asleep)
Shinichi: (whispers) yukkuri yasumi da yo.

As shori dozes off on Shinichi's shoulder, Shinichi ruffles shori's hair gently.

NEXT DAY

Yuu grabs her friend's arm, hamano hikari urging her to come with her.

Hikari :slow down, yuu chan.
Yuu: i cant go alone, u have to come with me.
Hikari: im not so free tht i can disturb others dates (chuckles)

Yuu releases her ice magic making hikari shivers because of the cold. Hikari shrieks.

Hikari: coldd!! Gomen gomen
Yuu: mou hikari chan. This is about u too. U have to come with me.
Hikari: wakatta yo. Relax okay

Yuu's eyes are in circles. She couldnt sleep well last night out of anticipation. They both arrived at the rooftop and there they saw Asahina Mikan, Fukushima Shinichi, Kitayama Tsuyoshi and lastly Kiryuu Shori. Both the girls were suprised to see asahina mikan there.

Hikari: mikan chan? Why are u here?
Mikan: in case u wanna have questions abt chrome, ill be there to answer ur questions.
Yuu: eh.. demo...
Shori: dont worry. She also knows abt emperor.
Tsuyoshi: sou sou. Lets not make this a stiff conversation. Lets have our lunch here together.

Tsuyoshi opens up a pice of cloth and place it on the floor. Hikari comes close to him.

Hikari : (smiles) thts a great idea, kitayama kun.

Tsuyoshi jolted as hikari places down the bento boxes on the cloth tht he spreaded. He blushes till his ears. He wanted to thank her but his voice cracked making him feeling more embarased. Hikari just chuckles.
After they all settled on the cloth. Kiryuu Shori starts the conversation by flicking fire with his finger.

Shori : do u what is emperor?
Yuu: no...
Shori: but u know tht ure an emperor right?
Yuu : thts because.. my brother told me..
Shori: listen. Emperor powers are an inheritance. They go down in generations. Out of all people, only one person will be chosen to have the emperor magic during one period of time. Once this person dies, the magic will go to the other owner. So basically we are like the vessels for the emperor magic

Yuu: is there anyone choosing the emperor vessels?
Shori: i havent come across that kind of question before so i dont know.

Hikari: question desu! How many emperors are there altogether?
Shori: dunno. so far its just us. the ice emperor, koizumi yuu. The wind emperor, hamano hikari. The fire emperor, myself. The shadow emperor, fukushima shinichi. The metal emperor, sabaku natsuki.

Hikari: sabaku natsuki?
Shori: ah, the one who was with us during the tournament.
Hikari: ooh! Tht one.
Yuu: so tht girl might be one of thr emperor too...
Shori: who?
Yuu: there was this one girl i met during thr tournament... she was the one who created the sand barrier.. if im not mistaken.. her name is... umm... i cant remember.
Shori: so tht makes 6 of us for now.

Hikari :so what is the duty of an emperor?
Yuu: duty? Tht sounds heavy...
Shori: thats a good question. In the history, before the chromes existed, emperor rules Helencia region. There were lots of emperors of the same kind. Everyone depended on the emperors with regard to the safety of the region. At that time, elves, fairies and other creatures rule the other region. Emperor has been the trademark of Helencia Region.

Everyone gulped.

Hikari : so what happened then..?
Shori: when the humans greed for power, they start inventing chromes magic crystal which they extract from the fairies and elves. Thts when the creatures attack the humans and tht resulted the death of most emperors. Until a time when only one of each emperor remain, they decided to retreat.

Asahina Mikan: tht resulted the emperor magic to be inherited by one person of each generation.
Hikari: (turns to Mikan) what about chrome then? U said that human used magic crystal's extracted by the fairies n elves to make chrome?
Tsuyoshi: (sips from the can drink) about chrome, some still uses the chrome magic crystals to regenerate a chrome child. Some inherit from their parents who are both chrome users.
Mikan: and some are just infected by the chrome virus .
Yuu: virus ?
Tsuyoshi: not long time ago, the massive crystal of chrome burst, polluting the earth's air. U can say tht it exists like vapour. And its very sensitive to new born babies. Thts how people get a sudden chrome child.
Mikan: and because they dont know how to take care of the chrome child, they send their children to chrome schools n academies. Thts what happen to me though...

Shori: plus now the earth is over populated with chrome users... and some cant even control their chromes. Thts why the country build an academy for chrome users specifically.
Mikan : and now here we are. Helencia Gakuen makes a twinning program with our old academy.

Everyone keeps quiet, trying to digest every information into their brains.

Shori: are u okay, koizumi san?
Yuu: (gasped) ah.. yeah.. chotto ne..
Shori: i know its hard for u to accept all these at once but one day ull definitely find out abt this. So let it be today.
Hikari: (thinks) so it means tht the king knows abt emperors?
Shori: king? Helencia king? Of course. The emperors work under the king in ancient time. And Helencia was always under the control of Kuhouin family.
Hikari: oh!
Shori: ... ure thinking abt something na?
Hikari: iie iie, nandemonai yo. (stretches herself) all this are making me stiff. But ill stick around with u, kiryuu kun, since im a little bit concerned abt emperors.
Shori: well, i have my own reasons too.

DING DONG DING DONG

Mikan : there goes the bell. We should head back to class.

Everyone agrees to Asahina Mikan. They stood up and clean up the place without conversing. Everyone is just engrossed in their own thinking. They went back to their class without uttering a single word. Yuu excused herself to go to the bathroom. As she walks down the stairs, she met her brother.

Yuu: oniichan?
Kyoya: yuu chan (smiles) isnt lunch's over?
Yuu: chotto toilet ni... (pouts)
Kyoya: hai hai.

As yuu passes by him, he noticed something and grabbed her arm. Yuu turns towards her brother in a suprise.

Yuu: eeh? Oniichan??
Kyoya: (looks closely on Yuu's fingertips)

Yuu's fingertips are covered with fragments of ice.

Yuu: (sweatdrop)
Kyoya: are u stressed over something?
Yuu: (retracts her hand from her brother's hand)
Kyoya: (sighed) anyway, dont be too overstress. I dont want u to get sick okay?

Kyoya pats gently on yuu's head before walking away.

Chapter 21

It was a dull raining morning. since its raining, they couldnt go to school by bike as they normally do.

Ken: itterashhai sho chan, shin chan!
Shinichi: ittekuru, ken.

Kitayama Shinichi closes the door behind him and catches up to his friend, kiryuu Shori who's walking ahead. Shinichi noticed that something has been bothering Shori since the day he had a talk Helencia Prince, Kuhouin Ryoki who is also their friend since they were small. He understood that at times conversation is not needed, to accompany is just sufficient to support him.

When they reached the school building , Shinichi took out a small face towel from his bag and hand it over to Shori. Shori took it from him and wipe the part where he got wet.

...... : the rain didnt even wet you and yet ure wiping urself. Heh. Still with ur old habit eh?

Both Shori and Shinichi recognized that voice. They turned around and saw the boy grinning from ear to ear.

Tsuyoshi : Kitayama Tsuyoshi, 1st year of Class 1. We're classmates right? Yoroshikuu (peace sign)
Shori: so only now uve decided to come to school?
Tsuyoshi: hehe!
Shinichi: actually... did u even pass the entrance exam..?
Tsuyoshi: oi! Thts rude Shinichi! Though i dont come to school, it doesnt mean that im stupid.
Shinichi: hmph (looks away)
Shori: is it some kind of a mission or what?
Tsuyoshi: baka! Im attending school like normal kids would be (looking around)
Shori: wow, thts a miracle.

As Shori made his way to the class, Tsuyoshi suddenly stopped, making Shori bumped his back.

Shori: Oi, tsuyoshi! Dont stop in the middle of the way.

Tsuyoshi couldnt hear what Shori just said. His focus and his mind has flew away as soon as his gaze fell on the figure of a girl familiar to him. His face turns red. Shori and Shinichi looks at the girl. The girl noticed the three of them and smiled.

Hikari: Kiryuu kun! Fukushima kun! ohayouu!
Tsuyoshi: %$+$/%$($
Shori: heh! (snicker) how manly of you, tsuyoshi. Coming to school just to see her.
Tsuyoshi: shu.. shut up!!

Hamano Hikari and Koizumi Yuu walks towards the boys.

Hikari: Hamano hikari desu. Sotchi wa?
Tsuyoshi: (blushes) eh? Ah... ki..kitayama.. tsuyoshi desu.. yoroshiku...

Tsuyoshi bends his head a little, making his bangs to cover his eyes.

Hikari: oh, so ure the new student sensei was talking about. It just happened that ull be seating next to my seat. Yoroshiku nee, kitayama kun.

Tsuyoshi's head burst due to overheat. Meanwhile Koizumi Yuu keeps on staring at Kiryuu Shori. SHori noticed that a little bit later. He flinched.

Shori: (smiles) hai, Koizumi san?
Yuu : ah.. gomen nasai... (looks away)
Shori: ?? Did kyoya san say anything to u about me?
Yuu: eh? Oniichan? Nothing, why?
Shori: iie.. just asking.
Yuu: sou...

LUNCH TIME

The three boys had their lunch on the rooftop. Tsuyoshi screamed as he let out his overstressed heart.

Tsuyoshi: shori!! Help meee! My heart is gonna burst if i have to seat next to her everyday.
Shori: (irritated) yeah, let it burst and ill just burn ur heart to ashes..
Tsuyoshi: geh! Shori.... why r u in a bad mood..... (sweat drop)
Shori: (bite a large piece from the hot steaming pan)
Shinichi: he's also stressing over a girl.
Tsuyoshi: eh...? And ure not jealous, shinichi?

Shinichi looks sharply at tsuyoshi and punched him.

Shori: her stares are sharper than knives... if she has something to say, why dont she just say it!
Tsuyoshi: are u talking about that ice girl?
Shori: (turns) eh..?
Tsuyoshi: ure talking about that girl with the long blue black hair right? She is the same girl that uses ice magic that day right?
Shori: u sure have sharp eyes. Thought tht ur focus is only to hamano san.
Tsuyoshi: (blushes as he hears her name)
Shinichi: (punches Tsuyoshi) ure making me wanna puke.

AT THE GARDEN

Mikan: Yuu chan, ive noticed that uve been staring at Kiryuu kun today.
Hikari: eeeh? Honto ni, yuu chan? Do u like him?
Yuu: chigau desu yo, mou...
Hikari: (excited) then then?
Yuu: umm.......... nandemonai yo (steals an octupus from Hikari's bento)
Hikari: aahh! Yuu chaaan! Revenge!
Mikan: (stood up)
Hikari: mikan chan? Its still not class time yet.
Mikan: i know. I have something to do.
Hikari: something?
Mikan: ill show u once im done with it (smile) jaa ne.
Hikari: dont forget to come to class on time.
Mikan : (waves)
Yuu: i wonder whats tht about.
Hikari: im sure it has something to do about Chromes. She's a chrome afterall.
Yuu: sou ne.
Hikari: yuu chan, do u recognize the new student tht sits next to me?
Yuu: kitayama tsuyoshi kun?
Hikari: yeah, ive met him before.
Yuu: eehh? When?
Hikari: hora, tht day when we went for the tournament. I met him there. I think he also participated in the match. And he also helped me out when we were in the pinch.
Yuu: heeeh? So he came here to stalk you?
Hikari: masaka..
Yuu: shiranai deshou. Plus the way he acts around you (chuckles)
Hikari: oh.. look who's talking.
Yuu: hehe.

DING DONG DING DONG.
There goes the last bell for the day. The teachers began releasing their students to go home.

Shinichi: i have to go home first?
Shori : ah.. please buy these stuffs. Ill cook once i go home.
Shinichi: student council meeting?
Shori: maa na.
Shinichi : (took the piece of paper from Shori's hand) dont worry, ill cook today.
Shori: here, take the umbrella too.
Shinichi: how bout you?
Shori: dont worry. The rain will stop by the end of the meeting. I dont want u to get sick.
Shinichi: (smiles) arigatou (leans towards Shori) but i wont.
Shori: (reddens) baka!

Tsuyoshi: ooii! Can i go home with you shinichi? I dont have an umbrella
Shinichi: i dont wanna do ai ai gasa with you (walks faster)
Tsuyoshi: hidoi yo! U can do it with shori, what about me T_T
Shinichi: die! (kicks Tsuyoshi)

The two boys quarrel under the umbrella, one kicking the other and one trying to hug the other. Shori shooked his head and went back into the building. As he walks through the corridor, the two girls walks down the stairs, walking towards the way out.

Yuu: mata ashita, hikari chan
Hikari: eh? Ure not going home yet?
Yuu: oniichan has a meeting. So i have to wait. Plus its raining.
Hikari: oh.

The cold wind blew towards them making them shiver for a while.

Hikari: oh. I love the wind during rainy days. Its so breezy
Yuu: sou ne. I love how it feels cold.
Hikari: wait till its winter. Its soo colddd tht u feel like living in the ice.
Yuu: (gleaming eyes) i love thaat! Winter wasnt that cold in my hometown.
Hikari: u shall enjoy the winter here. (Opens the umbrella) jaa ne, yuu chan.

MEETING ROOM

The president of the student council body, Kuhouin Ryoki leads the meeting tht afternoon assisted by the vice president, Koizumi Kyoya.

Ryoki: is there any objections for this project?
Kurumi: Kuhouin sama, pardon my rudeness but why must the Chrome students participate in the school trips? They deserve some rest dont they?
Ryoki: The reason why our school takes in Chrome students this year is to let them get used to living amongst the normal humans. School trips are one of the ways to freely roam among humans in public. Dont u think so?
Kurumi: (unwaver) well, i wouldnt disagree to that but what if something does happens. Chromes have an element tht makes them uneasy being in a crowd. School is out of question but public places? i doubt tht nothing will happen.

The Meeting room is in silence. The other members started whispering amongst each other as if agreeing on Kurumi's statement. She smirks as she sees the majority reaction.

Ryoki: Thts the main reason why we are putting the budget in improving the Chrome controlling bracelet. i have discussed reagrding this matter earlier with the Chrome Queen, Shiraishi Sakura and she approves regarding this matter. (more stern voice) plus if we fail at this twinning program, we have no right in becoming a leader in the future.

Once again the room is in deed silence. Kurumi felt pressured.

Ryoki: once again ill ask, any objections, raise ur hand.

Kurumi looks around and sees that none had their hand raised. She gritted her teeth. With that the meeting ends.

ENTRANCE OF THE SCHOOL

Shori let out a big sighed. Unfortunately the rain didnt stop. Shori scratches his head. He wouldnt expect Shinichi to come since he had promised to cook. He looks irritatingly towards the pouring rain.

....... : kiryuu kun.

Shori turns as he heard his name being called.

Shori: koizumi..
Yuu: As i thought, u dont like rain? You have been in a bad mood since the morning.
Shori: yeah. Little bit.
Yuu: nande deshou. Rains are cold n breezy. It feels like it washes away any worries that piles up.
Shori: well, for me it feels like its pouring a burden on me.
Yuu: burden?
Shori: thts my opinion though. But i guess ure right. Rains are peaceful at times.
Yuu: ...........
Shori: guess that people cant really have the same opinion right? Out of 10 people, there will be one person who disagrees with you. Thts how world is. But it depends on how you deal with it.

Shori turns to Yuu and noticed that Yuu has a stern look potrayed on her face. He gulped.

Yuu: kiryuu kun.... are u... an emperor..?
Shori: eh?
Yuu: were u the one who fought during that tournament? The one who uses the fire?

Shori gulped as he hears the questions from koizumi yuu.

Shori: eh (looks away) what do u mean, koizumi.... i think u get the wrong person.
Yuu: then look straight into my eyes.
Shori: etto.... (blinks his eyes)

Shori tries to look straight into koizumi yuu's eyes but suddenly Shori's feet misstepped. Yuu held her hand quickly towards Shori. But someone was faster. Someone grabbed shori's arm and pulls him forward, avoiding the rain drops to pour on his head.

Shinichi : daijoubu, shori?
Shori: (bangs covering his face) un..
Yuu: gomen nasai, kiryuu kun.. i didnt mean to frighten you...
Shori: (smiles) iie. Its not ur fault. I was just suprised.
Shinichi: (helps shori to stabilize his body)
Yuu: (worried)
Shori: dont worry, koizumi. As an apology, i will answer ur question. Yes, i am an emperor. A Fire emperor. and youre the ice emperor right?
Yuu: how did you...
Shori: i recognized that it was u the other day. Even hamano is an emperor, a wind emperor.
Yuu: matte matte.. youre confusing me now...
Shori: (pats on yuu's shoulder) dont worry, ill explain this to u tomorrow okay. But dont let ur brother know abt me.
Yuu: my brother doesnt know abt u? But he does know abt emperor and stuff...
SHori: just keep is a secret between us. Ill tell you everything tomorrow, okay?

Shinichi picked up the umbrella that had fallen earlier. Shori bows slightly and walks away under the same umbrella with Shinichi, leaving Yuu dumbfounded.

Chapter 20

IN THE PALACE

Kiryuu Shori, Fukushima Shinichi, Kitayama Tsuyoshi and Sabaku Natsuki, all 4 of them are in a pinch situation. They are now in the palace, facing Helencia Oukoku eldest son, Prince Kuhouin Ryoki.

Shori: ano... how did u recognize me..
Ryoki: baka ka?
Shori: (sweats)
Ryoki: is there any other person who can use fire magic? Who is young as u?
Shori: (sweats)
Ryoki: (sighed) im glad ure unharmed but why did u join the tournament?
Tsuyoshi : ano, Oujisama.. that was my idea.. i forced him to follow me... gomen.. nasai..

Ryoki looks at Tsuyoshi firmly. He looks back at Shori.

Ryoki: ur friend?
Shori: hai....
Ryoki: what if the help didnt come? What r u gonna do?
All: (silent)

Natsuki: ano... oujisama!

Natsuki's sudden approach shocked everyone. She bows really down making a 90° bent.

Natsuki : Act... actually i have something to return to oujisama... its a book that dropped off a carriage tp the castle... and i took it delibrately... im really sorry..
Shori: sabaku...?
Ryoki: hmm. What book is it?

Natsuki glanced towards Shinichi. Shinichi makes the book appears from his shadow on the floor. He picks it up and gave it to Shori. Shori hands it over to Ryoki. Ryoki flips open the book once.

Natsuki: honto ni gomen nasaii!! Please.. ill accept any labour work as punishment.. but...

Ryoki calls for the guard.

"Hai, Kuhouin Oujisama."
Ryoki: Escort them home. Shori kun, i hope u dont have any plans after this because i want to have my high tea with u.
Shori: eh?
Shinichi: hold it up. If shori is staying, then im staying too.
Tsuyoshi: (whispers) baka! Who do u think ure talking to, Shinichi!

Ryoki and Tsuyoshi looks deeply into each others eyes. The atmosphere between them is heavy and tense.

Shori: ahaha.... Shinichi.. ill be fine. Dont worry. Just go homr okay?
Shinichi: but shori...
Ryoki: how stubborn can u be, Fukushima Shinichi kun.
Shinichi: grr...
Shori: maa maa shinichi... go home kay? Ill contact u.
Shinichi: cheh... fine.. (walks away)
"Um.. to where shall i escort them, kuhouin oujisama?"
Shinichi: no need. We can go home by ourselves.
Tsuyoshi: oi, shinichi (follows Shinichi)

Natsuki also tag behind them. Ryoki and Shori turns to the opposite direction leaving the guard on his post.

Ryoki: im bad mood eh? (snicker)
Shori: its because u bully him, Ryoki san.
Ryoki: by the way Shori kun, (shows the book) u have gotten urself in a big trouble ne? (smiles)
Shori: (flinched ) [uwa... his smiling but his eyes arent smiling...] gomen...
Ryoki: come to my room.
Shori: eh? Eh? Ur room?
Ryoki: this book is a fiction book. If u really want to know abt history, i shall give u another book.
Shori: wha? Fiction book?
Ryoki: u can just tell the title of this book, the diary of a vampire. Would any history book be titled like this?
Shori: now ure talking abt it...

As they are walking towards Ryoki's room, they passed by a room thats familiar to Shori. He stopped in front of it. He gulped.

Ryoki: (halt) ?

Shori puts on a very troubled face. He grits his teeth and tightens his grip. He looks at the door of the room. Nostalgic memories comes by his mind.

Ryoki: (smiles) try opening it?
Shori: eh eh ah... (flustered)
Ryoki: (walks ahead)

Shori reaches towards the door knob. He pushes it slightly but there isnt any budge. Its locked. He sighed.

Shori: [of coz its locked. What the hell am i thinking]

Ryoki who is farther ahead opens a door and calls out for Shori.

Ryoki: hurry up and come on in, Shori kun.
Shori: ah hai..

Ryoki closed the door behind Shori. Shori looks at Ryoki's room.

Ryoki: it has been a long time since uve come here right?
Shori: yeah.. and ur room.. hasnt change at all..
Ryoki: why shld it change? I like the way it is. Gomen, shori kun, can u please open the balcony door slightly?
Shori: hai!

Ryoki walks towards the bookshelf and slides in the book there. Shori walks towards the balcony door and opened it. Fresh air enters the room. As he walks away, he saw a door by the wall.

Shori: are? Whats this door? This was never here before.
Ryoki: try opening it.
Shori: ugh... somehow hearing tht, just....

Despite saying that, Shori still made the urge to open the door. The door open and he looks inside. He was shocked.

Shori: this is.....
Ryoki: sou da. Its misaki's room. Unchanged from the day she went missing. The cabinets people would want to empty the room out but we cant let that to happen. So chichiue decided to lock the front door and made a door leading to the room from my room.
Shori: oh.... (fascinated) ano.. can i go inside..?
Ryoki: no, u cant, Shori kun. What is a young healthy boy planning to do in a girl's room?
Shori: (blushed) geh... uruse na..
Ryoki: come and sit here while im looking for the book.

Shori takes the last peek into Kuhouin Misaki, the missing princess's room and shut the door. He walks towars towards Ryoki's queen size bed and sits on it. He stares at a picture that stood by his side table. A picture that consist of 5 family members who stood close to each other around a small table that has a vase of flower on it. The missing princess, misaki is also in the picture.

Ryoki: Shori kun. Here (passes a book to him) i want to make a report out of that book.
Shori: eeeh? This thick book?? (looks at the book)
Ryoki: yes.
Shori: but.. i still have school works to do and...
Ryoki: no questions, no retraction, its a command.
Shori : (sighed)

Shori returns home with a discouraged face. He walks straight to the tatami room and there he saw his two friends sitting there waiting for him.

Tsuyoshi: Shori!!
Shinichi: (stood up) Shori!
Shori: tadaima.
Shinichi: (hugs shori)
Shori: er... shinichi... im fine...
Tsuyoshi: what happened? What did he do to u?
Shori: nah.. nothing.
Tsuyoshi: r u sure?
Shori: yeah (looks around) wheres sabaku natsuki?
Tsuyoshi: she... left on our way home. We didnt even realized when she was gone.
Shori: its already late. Why dont u go home tsuyoshi? Im going to bed.

Shori walks away leaving both of them dumbfounded.

Shinichi: didnt u hear tht? Now go home
Tsuyoshi: so why r u still here?
Shinichi: i stay here too.
Tsuyoshi :whaaaa?
