Yuu: kyaaaaaaaa!!!

Yuu runs out of her room with a face full of fear. Her brother, Kyoya heard her scream, peeks out of the kitchen. Yuu saw her brother and hugs him.

Kyoya: yuu? Whats wrong?
Yuu: am i gonna be like elsa from the frozen movie? Yada yada yo
Kyoya: (chuckles) no you wont. Thts only in movies.
Yuu: demo oniichan...

Yuu lifts her hand facing her palm upwards, and fragments of ice appears. Yuu's face turn pale. She looks upwards towards kyoya's calm face.

Yuu: oniichan, why r u so calm? Arent u suppose to be shocked or panicked?
Kyoya: ん? Why should i?
Yuu: datte... this is something... strange... that is happening to me.
Kyoya: well im not suprised. (walks away)
Yuu: mouu!! Onichaan!
Kyoya: (laughs)

HELENCIA CENTRAL TOWN

Shori and Shinichi is seen to be walking by the streets. Ken is jumping in front of them, excited to be out at night.

Ken: shori chan! Where r we going?
Shori: walking around. Is there anything u want, ken?
Ken: haiii!! Cream oreo cakeeee!!
Shinichi: thts sounds nice. Lets go get some.
Shori: (halts) geh... u can go buy... ill... just wait here.
Shinichi: (grabs Ken's hand) wait for us, kay?
Shori: yeah, i wont get lost baka.

Shinichi and Ken heads to the cake shop across the pathway. Shori placed his both hands in his side trouser pockets and walks around. He looks straight at the tower of the castle that could be seen anywhere around the city, inspite of all the merchants' building. While shori is engrossed looking at the castle which he used to play and spend time there with his friends, someone taps him by the shoulder.

Tsuyoshi: yo, shori.
Shori: (turns around) tsuyoshi.

Kitayama Tsuyoshi smiles and Shori turns towards him. He has a head band above his forehead making his front fringe to stay firmly on his forehead. Wearing a sleeveless vest on top of his inner collar shirt, with an army trouser.

Tsuyoshi: what r u doin here in this late hour??
Shori : sanpou.
Tsuyoshi: aaahh. U should come with me for missionss if ure that bored.
Shori: haha. No thanks. I have school to attend, unlike u.
Tsuyoshi: oh come on (elbow grabs) ure intelligent, im sure ull cope up.
Shori: no thanks i said.
Tsuyoshi: (looks at Shori's bandaged neck) hey, will this mark ever disappear? (whispers in shori's ears)

Shori startled with that question and brushed Tsuyoshi away, placing his hands over his neck. He could see the smirk on Tsuyoshi's face.

Tsuyoshi: U dont have to be aggresive.
Shori: anymore questions like that ill kill u.
Tsuyoshi: woa woah, chill down. I wont dare u to do that, even jokingly.
Shori: (turns away)
Tsuyoshi: anyway, i have a favour to ask.
Shori: (averts eyes towards Tsuyoshi whos standing on his left side)
Tsuyoshi: we have this sword fighting competition. Itll be held at...

Shori cuts off this speech.

Shori : yada.
Tsuyoshi: dont just cut me offf!!
Shori: i ready gave u my answer.
Tsuyoshi: oh.. come on. The winner will be able to try and uproot the legendary sword in front of the cadtle entrance.
Shori: its just a statue, not even a real one.
Tsuyoshi: but legend says that if u touch the legendary sword, ull get a part of ShinOu's kendo ability. Dont u want that?? (persuading)
Shori: isnt that what u want?
Tsuyoshi : ah. U found out?
Shori: -_-|||
Tsuyoshi: come on. Lets just have fun. We'll get to meet people with different kendo abilities.

Shinichi : we will go. How many in a team?
Shori: eeehhh???
Tsuyoshi: (thumbs up) sweet, shinichi. We need 4 people in a team. So its three of us and ill have to recruit one more.
Shinichi : when is this tournament?
Tsuyoshi: next 2 saturdays.
Shinichi: we'll meet u by then.
Shori: matte matte yo shinichi

Shinichi placed his palm on Shori's mouth, silencing him.

Tsuyoshi: thanks a bunch shinichi. I knew i could count on both of u. Jaa ne.

Tsuyoshi walks away. As soon as he disappears from sight, Shori bites Shinichi's finger. Shinichi flinched in pain.

Shinichi : ittte!! R u a vampire or what?
Shori: what the heck did u just say to tsuyoshi?? Do u want our powers to be seen by others??
Shinichi : we'll be seeing much other different powers and magic anyways.
SHori: thts ur reason??
Shinichi: (looks intensely into Shori) shori, sooner or later we need to find out the origins of our magic.
Shori: well, thts yeah but we dont have to enter the tournament
Shinichi: thts the first step.
Shori : er...... what if my power rages like before....?
Shinichi: ill be there to stop u. (smiles)
Shori:....... whatever.. (walks away) are u done buying the cake?
SHinichi: yeah.
Ken: let me be the 4th person in the team?

Both Shori and Shinichi turns towards the sudden silence breaking voice.

Ken: jokinggg! It coz u two r also acting like i dont exist (Pouts)
Shori: sonna koto nai ze, ken. (pats on ken's head)
Ken: (wide grinss)
Shori : lets go home.

Ever since tht night, shori and shinichi always go straight home right after the last bell rings. Though somedays, shori would go home a little later because of the student council meeting.

SHORI'S HOME

Shori: baka!! Tsuyoshi!! U have to aim it higher dammit!
Tsuyoshi: shut upp!! Ure not even practicing!!

Shori kicks the back of Tsuyoshi and he fell on the ground on his face. Tsuyoshi turns around and glares at Shori.

Shori: (evil grins) shall i flung u out of this house with my shinai(bamboo stick)

Tsuyoshi sits up and dashes towards Shori with his shinai. Shori easily blocks it. They continue exchanging attacks. Ken and Shinichi are sitting on the roka, eating sliced mango fruit while looking the two who are having their sword fighting practice under the big sakura tree.

Tsuyoshi made a sudden attack which make Shori stepped back in sudden, loosing his balance. Shinichi noticed it and he stretched his shadow towards Shori's, making his body halt in the middle of falling down.

Shori : arigatou, shinichi..

Tsuyoshi steps forward and slashed his sword right above shori's head.

Tsuyoshi : (grins) ippon!
Shori: (unsatisfied smile) cheh. U got me one.
Tsuyoshi: heh! Dont underestimate kitayama tsuyoshi, one of the member of helencia number one kendo dojo!!
Shori: ....... yeah.. who doesnt even attend school... glad ure not a hokorimori.
Tsuyoshi: -_-#

MEANWHILE

Kyoya: Yuu, look. (hands over a handout)
Yuu: a Sword Tournament amongst magicians..?
Kyoya: yeah, ryoki gave me 2 tickets. Wanna go?
Yuu: hmm... why sword tournament?
Kyoya : well, a change of pace?
Yuu: (noticed something written on the handout) eh? Its held in Central Town helencia?
kyoya: yeah, its actually quite near the castle. Ryoki might be there too.
Yuu: (reds) ikimassu!!
Kyoya: (smiles) dont forget to dye ur hair tonight.
Yuu: hai, oniichan. U dont have to remind me that. Im so used to it.
Kyoya: youre right. (chuckles)
Yuu: it would be better if i can just go without dying my hair.
Kyoya: but u know u cant yuu.
Yuu: i know oniichan. Because of my hair color?
Kyoya: i hope u can understand.
Yuu: i do oniichan. Dont worry.

It is evening. Everyone is resting in the tatami floored room. Shori removes his light yukata and wears his normal neck level vest, matching with his trouser. He peeks into the tatami floored room.

Shori: im gonna go out and buy some juices. Anyone want somthing?
Tsuyoshi: the new xbox cd game.
shinichi : a watch
Ken : a new army trouser
Shori: ............ -_-|| im not going to a shopping mall..
Tsuyoshi : che... green tea flavoured ice cream then
Shinichi : the normal custard cream puffs.
Ken : (pouts) jaa, chocolate pocky.
Shori: (sigh)

Shori went out of his house. He puts on his earphone and walks through the park towards the Konbini Store. He took whatever he needs to buy. He passed by the pharmacy area and spots bandage tap. He took 3 rolls of it and placed it in the basket. He goes to the cashier and pays for it.
On his way home, he took the longer route. His hands jingles the heavy plastic bag thts filled with things that the others had asked for. He smiled. His house hasnt been this lively these past years. As he walks, suddenly someone bumped into him from behind. Both him and the other person fell down. The plastic bag tore and the things were scattered. Both groans in pain.

Shori: (massage his hurting shoulder) [yabai.. shinichi's cream puffs]

Shori looks ahead and he saw a familiar hair color. Its Sabaku Natsuki. SHe looks at him with fear, grabs whatever she was holding and dashes. But before she could escape from Shori, she fell down again. Her legs has been badly injured. Blood gushes from the wound above her ankle.

Shori: matte! Ure injured.

Shori grabs the bandage roll he had bought earlier. He wiped off the blood stains and bandaged her bleeding wound.

Shori : T_T [my bandages.....]
Natsuki: (bents her head to cover her embarassed face)
Shori: there u go. Done.
Natsuki:......
Shori: oi. I did it out of my own kindness. THough i havent forgotten abt u.

Shori noticed something next to her he picked it up . A book. An old book. She sobers up and tried to snatch the book away but her pain overcomes her strength.

Shori: "The Diary of a Vampire".... this is the ancient book tht contains the history of this kingdom... why is this with u?
Natsuki: (tears) please... spare me... that book is.. very important for me... please... dont hand me over... to the polices....

Shori looked at her crying, begging him to spare her. He was shocked. He had once fought with her. The her at tht time is completely different compared to the her in front of him right now. Shori couldnt help but help her up and bring him to his house.

Reached home, Shori gave her a medicine and let her rest in the guest room. He assured her that she is safe and she could sleep for a while. He took the book with him to the tatami floored room.

Shinichi: (glares at Shori with anger)
Shori: gomen gomen. But listen to me first.

Shori puts the book on the table. Four heads bend over the table looking at the old book.

Shori: this book should be in the castle. Its the book that we've been searching for. But... why is this book with her?
Tsuyoshi: awesome. She stole it from the castle which has a perfect security.
Shinichi: thts not where u should be awed at, tsushi.
Tsuyoshi: my name is tsuyoshi. Please remmebr it.
Shinichi: okay sushi.
Tsuyoshi: -_-#

Tsuyoshi: "The diary of a Vampire" i wonder why they named a history book with such title...
shori : because it was a vampire who wrote this book.
Tsuyoshi: eh?
Shori: lets try reading it.
Shinichi: "locked in one of the chambers of the castle, the ephemeral vampire settled there throughout the wars between nations. The elves, Emperors, Magicians, Humans are engaged in this massive battle."
Tsuyoshi: ... wow..i didnot know that u can read ancient kanji..
Shinichi: speak more and ill make ur shadow disappear forever.
Tsuyoshi :-_-!
Shori: (flips) humans has went against thr rules of destiny. Human tried to generate their own power machines by inventing Chrome molecules. Chrome molecules provided magical powers to normal humans. Unfortunately the plan backfired them as the Chrome acts rashly and attacked the Emperors who are their ally. The sudden attacks by the Chrome has killed many of the Emperor Warriors. Human tried to stop the birth of Chromes but fails. They attacked the other nations rashly. Its like a plague. A punishment bestowed on the humans who has gone against the rules of the world.
Tsuyoshi: look here!! "Emperors are those blessed human with magical powers, Pure element." Theres a note here by someone "we need to find out the remnants of Emperors"

Awkward silence... they r buzy entertaining their thoughts.
Suddenly, someone slides open the wooden door, breaking the silence.

Natsuki: (on her knees) please... give me back... the book....
Tsuyoshi: not so fast, oujosan. (winks) lets make an agreement if u want this book back.
Natsuki: eh?
Shori: tsuyoshi?
Tsuyoshi: join our team for the upcoming sword competition.
Natsuki: why should... i?

Shinichi took the book and his shadow consumes the book making it to vanish.

Natsuki: (stretched out her arm) nooo!! The book!!
Tsuyoshi : shall u agree to join our team?

Natsuki glares at the smiling Tsuyoshi. She couldnt day anything. Shes trapped.

Chapter 17

Hikari: eeh?? so thts what happened (excited)
Yuu: sou desu. Thats why im so worried when Kiryuu kun didnt come to school.
Hikari: wait, wait, wait. Hold on. U said u were attacked by Chromes in Helencia Central Town?
Yuu : はい。
Hikari: and they said tht Kiryuu had interfere with their affairs??
Yuu: sou.

Both of them look into each other intensely and suddenly they burst out laughing.

Hikari: that is so not possible.
Yuu: sou ne. Even i thought so.
Hikari: can u imagine that soft and weak Kiryuu Shori fighting at the street.
Yuu: so impossible.
Hikari: he doesnt even want to fight in tournaments, least in fights.
Yuu: yeah.

Both of them continues laughing and suddenly they stopped and look at each other, with sweatdrop.

Yuu: its not that he cant but he doesnt WANT to fight in tournaments...
Hikari: i heard of guys that are very different when they are off school grounds.. like those in manga..
Yuu: mou.. hikari chan, this is not a manga. This is the reality.
Hikari : i know but it can happen.
Yuu : but i still dont think theyre referring to Kiryuu kun. Maybe they made a mistake.
Hikari: isnt that dangerous... u can get hurt..
Yuu: well i did.
Hikari: see? Even Kiryuu was attacked?
Yuu: yeah... i saw one chinese lady treating his wounds though..
Hikari: chinese lady? Ah. Thats JunHao, the police officer. She's in charge of crimes done by Chromes.
Yuu: oh..
Hikari:.. u did say that a guy saved u right??
Yuu: (blushes) yeah..
Hikari: heeh. Why r u blushing?
Yuu: (embarassed) im..im.... im not..
Hikari: yes u are.
Yuu: well i owe him a thanks. But i couldnt recognize his face since his hood was way too down covering his face..
Hikari: do u wanna meet him again? (Soft voice)
Yuu: (excited) can i?
hikari: ahahaha. Seee? U like hiimm.

As they were talking, Shori and Shinichi enters the class. Yuu stood up but Hikari grabbed her wrist.

Hikari: what r u gonna do?
Yuu: im going to tell him what happened.
Hikari: for what?
Yuu: he needs to know. I think he got attacked by the same bunch of people who attacked me. Maybe he can make a police report.
Hikari: i dont think u need to do so.
Yuu: u sure?
hikari: yeah. Dont tell ur brother too.
Yuu: yeah.. i wont.

Hikari and Yuu are sitting two rows behind his seat place. Shori turns and smiles to the two girls who were looking at him.

Hikari :(whispers) something is off, dont u think?
Yuu: (whispers) he does look different.. but what...?

Shori: Koizumi, i have something to ask you later.
Yuu: (reddens) eh?
Hikari: matte matte. If u wanna ask her something, i have to be there too.
Shori: eeh... but it has nothing to do with u.
Hikari: doesnt matter. (hugs Yuu)
Shori: ... aahh..-_-||| ure making it hard for people to confess to her...
Hikari : (stood up) u want to confess to her??

Everyone turn their gaze towards them. Shori's smilling face becomes pale. Yuu's soul has left her body.

Hikari: ........ is what the main actor said to the heroine. Hahahahahahaha. See how jealous he was (laughs)

Everyone continues their own business ignoring them. Shori has an expression that makes him wanna punch Hikari. Yuu buries her embarassed face in both of her palms.

Mikan: Kiryuu kun, here are the printouts that u need to send to Seitou Kaichou.
Shori: oh. Arigatou.

STUDENT COUNCIL ROOM

Ryoki and Kyoya seems to have a serious discussion.

Kyoya: what do u mean?
Ryoki : like i said, the book is not in the library. Ive checked through every shelf.
Kyoya: how is that possible.. the security of ur castle should be perfect.
Ryoki: (sighed) it must be the work of the outsiders.
Kyoya: but u would be able to sense whichever one enter ur castle right?
Ryoki: it must had happened during my absence. Anyway, i need to get the book back.

SOmeone knocks on the door. Shori enters the room.

Shori: ah.. gomen. Im here to hand over there printouts.
Kyoya: oh yeah, arigatou Shori kun (takes the printouts)
Ryoki: (noticed something) Shori kun, what happened to ur neck?

Shori zips up his gakuran quickly.

Shori: ah. Iie. Nandemonai yo. Jaa na.

Shori quickly comes out of the room to avoid excessive questions.

Kyoya: Ryoki, uve scared Shori kun. He has been bandaging his neck for long, you know.
Ryoki: .... when did u noticed it?
Kyoya: since the first day of school. He usually wears his muffler though.
Ryoki:...... (deep thinking)

Shori: (lifts up his collar) no wonder Koizumi and Hamano has been staring at me (sigh)

A soft material was thrown on his face. Shori takes it off his face and it is a muffler. He looks ahead and saw Shinichi.

Shori: Shin! Why didnt u give it to me earlier?
Shinichi : u didnt ask me to.
Shori: (flungs over his muffler over his neck) heh. Is that an excuse?
Shinichi: an excuse for u to start speaking? Yes.
Shori: baka. Thts why u were so silent this morning.
Shinichi: (smiles) ohayou.
Shori: only now (punches gently)

IN CLASS

Someone enters the room and looks around.

"Ano, may we help u? Who are u looking for?"

The question was asked to the one who just enters the classroom, a shy timid girl who wears a green stripe coloured school uniform.

"Um.. ano.. etto.... (looks around) im looking for Koizumi Kyoya's little sister, Koizumi Yuu...."
"Koizumi!! Someone's here for u"

Yuu: eh?
"Ano... etto... ur brother asks me to call u"
Yuu: oniichan ga?? (turns around) chotto ne, Hikari chan.
Hikari: hai, hai. Shall i wait for u?
Yuu : its okay. Im going homr with my brother today. Can u please pack my bag if schools over?
Hikari: (thumbs up) wakatta wakatta, brother complex (winks)
Yuu: im noott!!
Hikari : hehe.

Both the girls left the classroom. Mikan passed by them and enters the classroom.

Hikari: mikan chan mikan chan! Help me with science homework.
Mikan: youre so noisy. Why dont u ask Koizumi?
Hikari: didnt u see her when she went ot of class? Her brother is calling her.
Mikan : hm...
Hikari: here, help me with this one.

Yuu : senpai. Youre from the second year right?
"Eh... ano.. how did u know...??
Yuu: the stripes on ur sleeve. The numbr of stripes shows which year u are, deshou?
"Ah... yeah.... im a second year student lunar student"
Yuu: waah. So what chrome do u have?
"Eh? Why do u ask?
Yuu: gomen nasai, i was just curious. Hehe.

The lunar student chuckles. As they went to the third floor of the Block B building, they stopped in front of a room.

"Youre brother is in this room"
Yuu: hai. Arigatou.

The shy timid lunar student walks away quickly. Without wasting any time, she opens the door and enters.

She saw the silhouette of a person sitting on the desk. But the figure doesnt resemble the shape of a boy. The door behind her closed in a sudden. Yuu was shocked. She tried to open the door but its locked, magically.

"So, ure the little sister of Kiryuu Kyoya."

Speaks the silhouette of the girl as she gets off the table.

Yuu: ano.. and u are?
Kurumi: im Kurumi, a 3rd year senpai.
Yuu : (looks at her without blinking her eyes)
Kurumi: oh! And yeah, im a solar student just like urself, Yuu chan.
Yuu: ano.. ive been told that my brother is here..
Kurumi: ara! Did she give u the wrong message? I am the one who called u here.
Yuu: (steps back) im sorry. I came to see my brother not u senpai..
Kurumi: well dont be like that koneko chan. I had even prepared something for u.

Kurumi snapped her finger and suddenly something ties both Yuu's hand behind her back and both her feet which makes her losses her balance and fell on the ground. She groans in pain. Two girls came and stood by Kurumi's side.

Kurumi: here's ur prey. U can do whatever u want as long as u dont leave permanent marks on her.
Yuu: wait why r u doing this?
Kurumi: as a punishment for ur brother for not taking my advice. I shall do anything to kick the Chrome users out of this school.
Yuu: .... u hated the chromes and yet u use their services to do ur dirty work..
Kurumi: shut up!! Thats the second time that someone had said that to me. Well, nevermind.i shall do anything to get rid of the chromes. But first ill teach ur brother few lessons. (smirks) do it girls.

IN CLASS

Shori : lets go home. Asahina san, ill leave the keys here with u.
Mikan: (nods)
Shori: ure not going home yet, Hamano?
Hikari: nah. Im waiting for Yuu chan. Her bag is still here.
Shori: okay.

Shori and Shinichi walks out of the classrom and they met Koizumi kyoya.

Kyoya: going home now?
Shori: yeah.
Kyoya: kiyotsukete na, shori kun, shinichi kun.

Kyoya slides the door open and found only Mikan and Hikari are inside the classroom.

Kyoya: where is Yuu??
Hikari : ehhh??

Kyoya : ??
Hikari: oh yeah, she went to toilet earlier so im waiting for her. Wait let me go check on her.
Kyoya: okay, tell her ill be waiting by the fountain.
Hikari: hai (waves)

Kyoya walks out of the classroom taking Yuu's bag with him. When he's out of sight, Hikari grabbed Mikan by her shoulder.

Hikari: isnt Yuu chan was called by her brothrr earlier?? Why is he looking for her??
Mikan: maybe she is in the toilet afterall...
Hikari: im worried. Im gonna search for her (turns)
Mikan: wait. Let me come with u.

Mikan releases her Chrome and the ecriture of the layout of the school appears.

Mikan: I can help u.
Hikari: yoshi!

Mikan and Hikari runs out of the classroom.

MEANWHILE

Yuu groans in pain.

"Hey, why dont u fight back, silly girl?"
"That beautiful face or urs, let me make it up. With scars"

Before the girl could slap her, Yuu dodged it.

"Heeh (impressed) U have a good reflex system. But ill make sure u wont be able to dodgr it this time"

She grabbed a scissor and aimed it on Yuu. Yuu closed her eyes, praying for a miracle to happen. And at that same time, strong wind fills the room making the girl to drop down the scissor. In a second, the door was kicked open.

Hikari: so here u are, yuu chan. Have u not meet ur brother yet?
Yuu: hikari chaan!! Mikan chan!
"Tchh! Dont u dare interrupt"
Hikari: oho, but this little princess needs to go home. Dont u know its off school hours"

The girl releases her chrome in an ecriture of scissors and aims it towards Hikari. Hikari releases her wind magic and repels the attack. Mikan noticed an ambish attack.

Mikan: Hikari!! On ur left side!
Hikari: arigatou, mikan chan

Hikari turns 360° and forms a cyclone which repels the ambush attack.

"Keh... what r... u...?"
Hikari : well, lets just say im a gifted girl with magic.

Suddenly Hikari could feel a sudden pain around her upper body. She was tied with thin rope.

"Heh, guess u couldnt sense that was coming"
Hikari : che..

This is disadvantage scene. Hikari being tied up, paralyzing her movements. Mikan is unable to move. Yuu spots a scissor stabbed into the floor. She moves closer to it and cut the rope thats tying her hand with it. When she succeeds, she stood up and brings her hand forward.

Yuu: Dont u dare hurt my friends!

Yuu release ice from beneath her feet and it frozes the entire room. The two girls turn towards Yuu and dashes towards her. Yuu again releases her ice magic and they were both flung backwards, hitting their back against the wall. They groan on pain. Yuu quickly form a knife made of ice and cuts off the thin rope that was tying Hikari. Before the two girl stands up again, Yuu, Hikari and Mikan made their way out of the room, escaping.

The three girls were out of breath.

Hikari: wow.. luckily we managed to escape and what the hell was that yuu chan? I didnt know that ure a magic user.
Yuu: so do i.
Hikari: the heck. That was an awesome ice magic.

Hikari stops. Both mikan and her look straight towards Yuu, who's looking at her hands.

Hikari: whhhhaaattt? U mean.. u dont know tht u have magic?
Yuu: this is the first time.. this has never happened to me before.
Mikan: i would like to be happy for u but in this kind of situation u need to go to the doctor.
Hikari: (hugs Yuu) what r u saying, mikan chan? Yuu chan is not sickk.
Mikan: no, i mean.. not the real doctor.. okay wait... im not even sure. Because the magic just now was ot chrome. its just like urs, hikari. Pure element magic. Ive read it somewhere but i dont remember.
Hikari: pure element magic?
Mikan: yeah, theres a history for it which i dont know. But what i know is pure element magic users r not chromes. Chromes r passed down through genes while pure element magic are passes down on who deserves it. Or something like that.
Hikari: i think we need to go ask JunHao san. Im sure she can tell us tit bits abt it.
Yuu: (stares at her hand which still has traces of ice frost)
Hikari: yuu chan, r u gonna tell ur brothr..?

Hikari: okay... (smacks gently on yuu's cheeks) just act natural. Ur brother is waiting for u by the fountain.

Chapter 16

Kiryuu Shori and Fukushima Shinichi enters the classroom.

Shori : Ohayou.

To Shori's amazement, noone noticed him. All were busy surrounding one desk. Apparently tht is Koizumi Yuu's desk. she is helping the other classmates in doing homework. Shinichi head to his seat, leaving Shori dumbfounded at the door. A boy who had gotten his explanation from Yuu turns and walks towards the door while memorizing the note from the book. Suddenly he bumped into someone.

"Oi. Cant you.... see.. um.."

The boy was shocked when he noticed that he had bumped into Shori. He said in excitement.

"Guysss!!! Kiryuu sama has returned!!"

In an instant everyone looks towards Shori and welcoming him back to school after 2 days of absent. Shori draws up a fake smile. He stole a glance towards Yuu.

Shori : [as usual... she dyed her hair again..]

Shori walks towards Koizumi casually. Suddenly few boys stood in front of him, asa barrier between him and Koizumi Yuu.

Shori: ??
"(－－〆) dont think we forgot what u did to her at the garden.."
"we shall protect her from ur harrassment, Kiryuu sama"
Shori : why are u guys making a fuss in the beginning of the day (heads to his seat) im going to my seat.

Everyone felt a cold shudder as the result of Shori's way of answering. Suddenly, Shori turns as he places his bag by the side of his table and pass through them as fast as lightning.

Shori: (winks) Found an opening!
"あああ！！ kiryuu sama!!!"

The acting as barrier boys tried to catch Shori while he runs around the class. The others burst out laughter seeing the excited scene.

"I wonder if other classes have awesome class president like ours"
"i doubt that. Kiryuu sama is different. He always makes his classmates feel safe around him"
"Thats why he is liked by everyone"

Koizumi heard the conversation. She couldnt help but to smile.

They had a normal school day, normal breakfast, normal club activites. Everything went on normally.

Shori : Yo!

Shori greets Yuu as she walks through the corridor.

Yuu : Kiryuu kun.
Shori : So uve been coping well in class. Glad to hear tht.
Yuu : (looks down) まあね。。U didnt come to school on Monday. Did something happen after u sent me back?
Shori : いいえ。i had a slight fever on monday morning (averts his eyes) coz i watched a movie with Shinichi till 3. (forced laughter)
Yuu : (relieved sigh) i thought it was bcoz of going out with me.
Shori: (looks at Yuu) no it wasnt. So dont worry
Yuu: (smiles) よかった。

Shori couldnt helped by to be charmed by her innocent smile.

Shori: are u going home with Kyoya さん？
Yuu: はい。 ill be waiting for him at the fountain.
Shori: (looks at his watch) okay. Be careful. Dont talk to strangers.
Yuu: (laughs ) there arent strangers in school.
Shori : well... u wouldnt know. There are dangerous people everywhere.. like.. (hesitated)
Yuu: Chrome?
Shori: not all of them but u wouldnt want to regret later.
Yuu: だいじょうぶです。
Shori: yeah. Im sure ull be fine (scratching his head)

As shori is about to turn and walks away, Yuu tugs on the end of his shirt, halting him to move. He looks into her eyes. So does she.

Shori : 。。。。
Yuu: ね、actually.. i...
shori: え？

Yuu is about to tell him something. But someone interupts their converasation. It is none other than her brother walking quickly towards their direction. He pants.

Yuu: oniichan?
Kyoya: ごめん。have u waited for long, Yuu?
Yuu: (shooks her head) i was going to wait for u by the fountain.
Kyoya: yeah. I went there and u werent there. So i was looking for u. Good thing that ure alright.
Yuu: もうoniichan..
Kyoya: ありがとう、Shori くん for accompanying her. さあ、かえろ、yuu.
Yuu: はい。またね、kiryuu くん。

Shori just looks at the back of the two who just left. He felt a pat on his shoulder.

Shinichi: lets go home.
Shori : okay.

IN THE CASTLE

Ryoki is seen to be in the library of the castle. He walks past the shelves that filled with arranged books. He stops, takes out a book, and flips open the pages. He puts it back as it doesnt interest him. He did that couple of times. As he was flipping the pages of an old book, an elegant lady with a complete gown came inside of the library. She smiles as she sees Ryoki.

Ryoki: (slightly bows) Hahaue.

The lady whom Ryoki addresses her as hahaue is his mother, Kuhouin Fuyu, the Queen of Helencia Kingdom.

Fuyu: what a suprise to see u here, Ryoki.
Ryoki: me too, hahaue.
Fuyu: hows school?
Ryoki: fine.

Silent awkward.

Ryoki: anyway, ive met shori くん。he's in first year of high school now.
Fuyu: oh! U should ask him to come here and play some day. I would like to meet him. It has been 5 years since we've last see him.
Ryoki: (puts the book back into the shelf) i shall convey the message to him.
Fuyu: 。。。。 Ryoki.... (hesitated)
Ryoki: はい、hahaue??
Fuyu: (shooks her head)いいえ、なんでもないわ。dont forget to send my regards to him. (Walks away)
Ryoki: はい。

AT HOME

Shori walks straight to his room. Shinichi makes himself falls on the bed. Shori loosens up his necktie. His gaze fell upon the picture on the corner of the his mirror. His phone vibrates. Ryoki san's name appeared on the screen of his phone. Shori gulps. He looks at Shinichi who has fallen into sleep on the bed. She tiptoed out of the room with his vibrating phone in his hand. He closes the door behind him and tap on the answer call.

Shori: Ryoki san?? Where did u get my numbr from??
Ryoki: as the kaichou i would have access through everyone's information.
Shori: ... ah... sou ne ^_^¦¦¦
Ryoki: are u free this weekend??
Shori : (shocked)...(looks on his phones screen) ano.. r u calling the right person..?
Ryoki: Well yes.
Shori: umm.. (scratches his head) why do u ask?
Ryoki: Mother said tht u should come and play here one day. She would like to meet u.
Shori: (excited) eh? Oujosama?? Ano... im not sure i be able to..
Ryoki: dont worry. Take ur time.
Shori: gomen nasai, Ryoki san. Im still... um..
Ryoki: its okay. I understand.
Shori: arigatou.
Ryoki: whenever u feel like coming by, tell me okay?
Shori: hai. Thanks for the offer. Send my regards to Oujosama.

Shori taps the end call and sighed. He touches the bandage that wraps around his neck gently.

Chapter 15

Finally Koizumi Yuu sobers up. But she could feel something hard tied on her wrist unabling her to move. Her back aches because of lying on the hard cement floor. She looks up to see if she can find ways to free herself with.

"Ara. Ara. U woke up"
"Good thing. Now u can call ur boyfriend to save u"

2 girls appears in front of her. Both of them smirks.

Yuu : Release me.
"No, cant do that. We need to teach ur boyfriend a lesson for intefering on Sabaku sama's clients' affairs"
Yuu : Sabaku? (struggles) just.. release me!

Suddenly Yuu coulf felt an intense electric shock runs within her body. She screamed and fall down on the floor.

"Can u hear her screaming? Thts so melodious."
"Wanna hear more?"

One of the girl cast her chrome on the cloth that ties Yuu's wrist and immediately Yuu could feel the same intense electric waves. She screamed until she lost concious.

"My my. Tht was fast"
"Though she actually last longer than normal people"
"Maa, as long as this girl kills my boredom. I dont really care what Sabaku Natsuki sama is going to do though"

MEANWHILE

Kiryuu Shori gave away his green tea flavoured ice cream to a young boy nearby. He's eyes wildly on search for any signs of Yuu. Though his heart is panicking like hell, he still potrays a calm expression. A girl suddenly shows up and spoke to him.

Natsuki : Looking for ur girlfriend?

Shori looks at her.

Shori : why did u kidnap her?
Natsuki : Im trying to be nice and help u out.
Shori : so where is she? (suspicious)
Natsuki : come follow me.

Shori follows her far behind but near enough to see her. When they reached a lonely place, Natsuki took out a weapon and slashed it to his direction. Her impact was too strong that it cut down a branch. Luckily Shori managed to dodge that by croutching. Sabaku Natsuki hold her weapon, a lance and stick it to the ground.

Natsuki : Nice dodge.
Shori : so close.... Who the hell are you?
Natsuki : u have to pay back for intefering my affairs.

Again Natsuki lifts her lance and slashes it towards Shori. Shori, in a second, grabs a rod thats on the ground and intercept the attack. Cause of the difference in size and weight, the rod broke into half and Shori manage to avoid the strong falling lance which falls sharply on the ground, making a crack on the ground. Shori overwrite his balance and let out his flame from the two rods. Now the rods becomes a fire rod weapon for him.

Natsuki : I see youre not a Chrome user.
Shori : and i see youre not a normal girl.

Natsuki attacks with her lance while Shori defends. Its not Kiryuu Shori's style to attack in the first place. Natsuki swings her lance downwards, intending on injuring Shori. In a speed of lighting, Shori dashed forward, helding the two fire rods above him, hoping tht he'll decrease the impact. Natsuki smirks.

Natsuki : Do u think that this is my only ability?

To Shori's amazement, her lance became shorter and it slashed Shori's right shoulder and chest, tearing his shirt and injuring him. His right hand drops the rod that he was holding and the fire extinguishes from both the rods. He groans in pain. Blood gushes out from the wound tht he received from the slash.

Natsuki : My magic is Metal. I can change the form of my weapon whenever i want and however i want.
Shori : keh... i just want u to...... return Koizumi to me...
Natsuki : Heh. Tht girl is so special to u that u even sacrifice urself for me.
Shori : Of course she's special to me. Because she's someone special to my precious person!!!

Shori dashes forward with one rod on his left hand. He increased his courage and the fire increase that it forms a big blade on the surface of the rod. He lets out his last force in thr last slash and finally it hits Natsuki and she fell on the ground. Since Shori had used most of his powers, he also fell on the ground unconcious.

IN THE BUILDING

Yuu again gets concious. Yuu could smell the sensation of blood. She alerted herself.

"Ara ara. Looks like Sabaku Natsuki sama has already caught her prey"
"Thats what u get for messing up with her plans"
Yuu : (fears) wht.... have u done... to him?
"Im sure u wanna know what have he done to us"
Yuu : (gulps) no.. i dont wanna know. Just release me.
"Heh, do u know wht role r u playing for us? You're a toy while waiting for Sabaku Natsuki sama to come back"

As one of them cast her Chrome to Yuu, someone barged it and kicks the girl away, unabling her to cast Chrome. She falls on the ground. A person wearing a big cloak with hood that covers his head makes his appearance.

"Daijoubu ka?"

Yuu recognizes the voice but she couldnt remember from where did she hear that voice. She nods.

"How the hell did u manage to come inside here!!!"

Another one tried to attack the person with the hood but he intercept her by kicking her. Without any word, he helps Yuu to stand up and indicates to her that ahe should follow him. Though her hand is still tied up, she follows running behind him. They managed to run away from the 2 girls. They stopped at a corridor. The person took out his dagger and snapped the cloth that was tied on her wrist.

Yuu : Arigatou (rubbing her bruised wrist)
"Im sorry for causing trouble on you"
Yuu : iie, u had saved me.
"Gomen na. If only I had deal with this sooner, they wouldnt have kidnapped u"

Yuu is still confused with his statement but she herself feels restless having to be apologized from.

"Run straight there and ull see a door. Smash the door with whatever u can find and go out from here."
Yuu : How bout you?
"Ill take care of them"

Though his face is covered by the hood, she could sense him smiling. She smiles back.

Yuu : Arigatou again. (bows)

As she turns around to go away, suddenly the person grabbed her arm, swinging her to face him again. At that same moment, Yuu's hairband looses, making her ponytail to fall down. Her face is so close to the person's face that she could actually see his face. Before she could register in her mind whts happening, he releases her hand and she continues to run towards the exit. She's not running away from him or is she running because she's scared. Her mind has already send the message to run to her legs before she could register anything else in her mind. When she had disappears from his sight, he actually retract his hand and place it over his mouth.

"Shit.. what was i doing...?"

OUTSIDE

When Yuu finally breathed in fresh air, only then she could register messages in her brain. Her face is flushed red. Her heartbeat couldnt stop. In fact its beating faster and faster as she remembers the person's figure.

Yuu : [aah.. whts wrong with me..? Why is my heart beating so badly.... ? This has never happen before... except in front of Ryoki oujisama.... waah... stop it, my heart....]

As she tries to calm her heart, by walking suddenly she saw a figure of a woman and a boy on her lap. She could recognize the boy's t shirt. Yes, it is Kiryuu kun's t shirt. As she steps forward, whatever she is seeing now makes her stops. The woman lowers down her face on to the boy's face.
......
She immediately hides.

Yuu : [wha.. wha.. wh.. what are they... do.. doing..? K...ki...kis..kissi...ng...?? ]

In a sudden she realizes something.

Yuu : [eh... im not feeling bad about it.?? Im fine?? Why am i hiding anyway]

Yuu comes out of her hiding place calmly. Her face is slightly red though. Shori saw her coming and immediately sits up.

Shori : (delighted) Koizumi!! Ittee itte tte tte ( pains)
"Kiryuu kun!! Please stay still until i treat u"

The woman spoke with a weird chinese slang.

JunHao : Heeh! Is that ur girlfriend?
Shori : (red) No she's not!! She's a friend!!
Yuu : [why am i not hurt with that statement...? Wait.. why am i actually remembering him again...? ] So..sorry to disturb u...
Shori : Baka!!!! She was just treating me. Look, I got attacked!! Dont go think something else!!
Yuu : (laughs) Im not thinking of anything bad.
Shori : You do!! You thought she was kissing me right?
JunHao : oppss. U notice that i did that on purpose?
Shori : Do what on purpose?? Stop saying things thats makes situations worse!!
JunHao : (tongue out)
Yuu : u got attacked?? Why??
Shori : well.. i was searching for u and someone just attacked me. Moreover are u okay?
Yuu : Yeah. Im fine (suddenly blushes)

Both JunHao and Shori looks at her with their jaw open.

Shori : oi..oi... did something bad happen??
Yuu : no nothing really..

Shori sighed and pats her head. Yuu glanced at him. He smiles.

Shori : Im glad ure fine.
Yuu : un. [Its weird.. my heart doesnt go doki doki. But... I feel safe with him..] (whispers) its warm as usual...
Shori : Did u say something?
Yuu : um..no. just talking to myself.
Shori : hmm.
Yuu : actually 2 chrome users held me hostage. And they said that u intefered with Sabaku Natsuki's plan.
JunHao : They are the Chromes tht works for underground dark guilds. They murder, assasinate, kidnap and rob. They are dangerous Chromes compared to the normal cases which we receive.
Yuu :??
JunHao : ah. Sorry. Im JunHao, Chrome Police Officer.
Shori : sabaku natsuki? Then that must be the one who attacked ne earlier.
Yuu : did u do something?
Shori : How could I? Im not even a Chrome user. Instead i was the one who was attacked! Cant u see these woundss!
JunHao : (stood up) i think u two should go home for now. Get ur wounds treated, Kiryuu kun.
Yuu : (helps Shori to stand up)
Shori : Yeah. I know. Im just gonna send her home first.
JunHao : Be careful.

Both of them bid JunHao farewell. Shori kept on hissing, trying to endure the pain.

Yuu : are you okay?
Shori : sorry but can u do me a favour.
Yuu : [is he gonna tell me to go home by myself?]
Shori : can u take off my jacket thts tied on my waist?
Yuu : (blushes)
Shori : Sorry for asking u to do something embarassing...
Yuu : its okay, Kiryuu kun.

She untied the jacket's sleeves and helps Shori to wear it.

Shori : Coz i dont want ur brother to be worried if he sees me wounded.
Yuu : oh... (disappointed)
Shori : he would think that im not capable of protecting u. Gomen.
Yuu : dont mind it. I think my brother will still think highly of you. Or else he wouldnt have let me go with u.
Shori : (smiles) sou da na. Do u still remembr the way to go home?
Yuu : We can either take the trains or the carriage. Or maybe do u want to see a breathtaking place? Im sure itll treat ur wounda and worries in a sec.
Shori : Sure, guide me there Tourism san.
Yuu : mou kiryuu kun.

They went up the hill and lay there for a moment and Shori sent Yuu home. Luckily noone was at home so he wont have to meet anyone till he reached home. As he reached the doorstep of his house, the burning sensation that he felt since fighting Sabaku Natsuki increased. Finally he collapse on the doorstep of his house. Black marks appears from his neck towards his left arm. He couldnt feel anything besides the burning sensation inside of him. He could hear vague footsteps coming towards him. It is his companion, Fukushima Shinichi. He immediately carried Shori on his arms and bring him to his room. Shori pants.

Shori : shin.... it...s... hot... help me... (reached out his hand)
Shinichi : Did u use ur magic today? (grabs his hand)
Shori : go..men..nas..ai.... i did..

Shinichi opens the bandages that Shori had on his neck. He could see the black marks slithering from his neck to his left arm.

Shinichi : gomen. Please bear with it.

Shori screamed.

ANOTHER DAY

Shinichi walks through the roka, wooden floored passage and there Shori is sitting at the edge of the roka in his dark purple kimono, gazing at the bright blue sky. Shinichi sat next to him, hanging his feet on the edge of the roka.

Shori : (depressed) ive missed lots of lessons....
Shinichi : Relax. U can borrow my notes.
Shori : (looks at Shori with a straightface) .......... not that u ever pay attention in class..
Shinichi : i did try to jote down notes to distract me from thinking abt u.
Shori : ...... (touches Shinichi's forehead) do u have fever?

"Heeeh. Finally i got to see u but ure in a bad shape eh, Shori yo"

Both Shinichi and Shori recognized that voice. They set their gaze on the brick wall that surrounds the residence. On the high wall, a boy, same age as them, is seen to be sitting with a wide grin.

"Yo! Shinichi, Shori! Long time no see"
Shori : (smiles) u still have tht bad habit of urs, Tsuyoshi.

The boy whom Shori calls him Tsuyoshi jumps off the wall and lands gracefully on his feet.

Tsuyoshi : Kitayama Tsuyoshi, has returned to Helencia!!!

Shori : (turns to Shinichi) mind if i take a look on ur notes?
Shinichi : sure, its in my bag, which i left in school.
Shori : so whats the use....
Tsuyoshi : (irritated) Dont ignore me!!!!!!

Shori : so u come back for good?
Tsuyoshi : yup, the tournament was nothing. Plus i heard the news, our school has Chrome users??
Shori : ah (agreeing)
Tsuyoshi : (punching the air) yosha!!! Wanna pick a fight aaah!!
Shori : Tsuyoshi, ure not suppose to fight with them... ure suppose to study with them.
Tsuyoshi : (sudden stop) tsk... u should have said that earlier.
Shori : well u never ask. So r u coming to school?
Tsuyoshi : yeah tomorrow. I need to settle myself first though.
Shori : Well well, welcome back to our class.
Tsuyoshi : matte yo... (turns to Shinichi) is he our class president?
Shinichi : as the matter of fact, yes.
Tsuyoshi : the hell!!! (grabs Shori's shoulder with his arm) we shall conquer the school!
Shori : itte tte tte (pains)
Tsuyoshi : (releases) gomen gomen. It is 'that'again?
Shinichi : yeah. Recently 'it' happens a lot.
Tsuyoshi : (serious) maji ka yo. Shori, u know--
Shori : (forced smile while enduring pain) i know, Tsuyoshi. The time has come. Ill eventually use this power even if i dont want them.
Tsuyoshi : (sighed) actually, when i was there i heard something about Chrome.
Both : eh?
Tsuyoshi : so i checked them out. Ur powers are not Chrome. They are called "Emperor".
Shori : "Emperor"??
Tsuyoshi : Sou da. I only got the name but i have no knowledge about it. Though, we can find out about it in the ancient history books.
Shinichi : we actually tried to searvh for the books in th library but they dont have it. All history books can only be found within the castle.
Tsuyoshi : (nods)
Shori : we plan to go there. Wanna join?
Tsuyoshi : (grins) count me in, buddy.
Shori : ouh!! (nods)
Shinichi : but not today since ure not well. Shori.
Shori : ahahahaha.
Tsuyoshi : hm hm. I can see ur relationship is going pretty well eh.

In a second, Shori's feet is pressing Tsuyoshi's back on the floor. With his scary smile, he says

Shori : wanna go for one, aah?
Tsuyoshi : my de... deepest... ap.. ologize... Shori sama...

Chapter 14 Tour around Helencia.

"Ding doong~"
The door bell rings. Kyoya is busy in the kitchen with his apron.

Kyoya : Yuu, please check who's at the door? Im quite busy here.

Yuu gets off the couch with a pocky in her mouth. She looks through the peephole. She startled and moved back. She ran to her room, tidy up her hair and her dress. She wipes off the biscuit's crumbs that on her face. The door bell rang for the second time.

Kyoya : Yuu, didnt i tell u to open the door?

Kyoya peeps out from the kitchen and he saw his sister's face red of shyness or maybe of tiredness or maybe of anxiousness, standing in front of the door. He chuckles and resumes doing his work in the kitchen. Yuu breathes in, breathes out and finally she opens the door.
The one entering the house was none other than her brother's best friend who's also the prince of Helencia Kingdom, Kuhouin Ryoki oujisama. Ryoki glances at the girl who had opened the door for him and smiles charmingly.

Ryoki : Ohayou, Yuu. You look pretty nice with your natural silk hair colour.
Yuu : (embarassed) arigatou, Ryoki sama.

As Yuu closes the door, something hard pushes it to open.

Shori : Oi. Let me in. (out of breath)

Yuu was shocked to see her classmate in her new school, Kiryuu Shori, entering her house. He is not just anybody. He is the number one student among the First years, Class president and an Executive Member of Student Council. Kyoya comes out of the kitchen still in the apron.

Kyoya : Heh! Did u come together?
Ryoki : Well I was on my way here when I saw him coming out of his house and I even invited to hop in my car.
Yuu : [As i thought, Ryoki sama is so cool]
Shori : The heck? You just stopped by me and said that if u arrive first u'd tell Kyoya san about my embarassing past.

Ryoki ruffles Shori's hair while Shori struggles to get away from him. Kyoya tries to calm them down. Yuu looks at the scene and laughs.

Ryoki : Shall we get going Kyoya?
Kyoya : yeah, wait a minute. Ill go change.
Yuu : Onii chan, ure going somewhere with Ryoki sama?
Ryoki : Yes, im very sorry Yuu for stealing ur brother on this day.
Yuu : umm.. (disappointed) its okay.. i guess i cant help it if its about work.
Kyoya : (comes out with a different outfit) Thats why I called u here, Shori kun.
Shori : (sipping his juice)
Kyoya : Can u please take Yuu outside and shoe her around?
Shori : (spurts his juice out)
Yuu : (turns to her brother)

Shori + Yuu : eehhhh!!!???

OUTSIDE

Yuu is amazed with the outside world since she wasnt allowed to go out during her rehab. She had only went to the library with her friend, Hamano Hikari. And that happened only twice. And now she's out again to see the place where she had stayed for 5 years.
Shori : Do u really have to dye ur hair when u come out?

Shori looks at her tied up brown hair in a ponytail with a cap covering her from the heat of the sun.

Yuu : Thats what Oniichan told me to do. Maybe so i wont attract much attention.
Shori : hmm~m. Saa, (helds out his hand)
Yuu : (looks at his streched out hand)
Shori : (realizes and pulls his hand back and place them in his pant's pocket) ikou ka?
Yuu : (smiles) Haii!!

As Yuu tags along behind them, someone recognized Shori from the shadow.

"Natsuki san, tht one. (points to Shori's direction) He was the one who fails our mission the other day!!"

The girl who was called Natsuki looks at Shori with an intense look.

Natsuki : We shall deal with him later. Now we have to do our job and make sure!! U dont fail this time
"(fear) Ha.. hai!!!"

IN FRONT OF TH LIBRARY

Shori : You've been here before right?
Yuu : Yup, and thats the place where i first met you.
Shori : you sure remember it.
Yuu : thts was my second time going out. So obviously i would remember it.
Shori : you were returning the books to the library?
Yuu : yeah. Wht about you?
Shori : Well, i came to find some books on history but there isnt any in the library.
Yuu : how come?
Shori : I dunno. But they told me tht i can get it from the castle.
Yuu : thts too bad ne. (sympathy)
Shori : (realizes) actually you gave me a good idea. Do you wanna go to the castle?
Yuu : eh? But Ryoki sama isnt there now.
Shori : no baka. We're not going in the castle. Im just gonna show u around the kingdom.
Yuu : oh!
Shori : Now remember. This is the main city of Helencia Kingdom. Where the normal citizens live and have their normal daily life. Big offices, hotels, supermarkets, cinemas etc are all here. There's a train station that connects this kingdom to other towns like Tokyo and Shibuya.
Yuu : wakatta.
Shori : Now if we pass the forest and climb further up on the mountain therell be another world.
Yuu : Another world???
Shori : Lets go there.

Shori grabbed Yuu's hand and dashes towards the forest which he mentioned earlier.

Yuu : (blushes) [as i thought... his hand is hot...]
Shori : [her hand is always cold even though we're out under the sun]

When they arrived to the forest which separates the city from the kingdom.

Shori : actually this is the shortcut which i always use to go to the kingdom. People normally uses the train or the carriages to get to the kingdom.
Yuu : so why dont we just use the train? Its more safe and easier right?

As they struggles through the forest, they finally come out of it. Yuu couldnt believe what she's witnessing. Its a very vast green mountain field that usually can only be seen through pictures and drawings. But she's actually witnessing it with her own eyes.

Shori : Pretty right? We always spend have a picnic here when we were small.
Yuu : We?
Shori : my childhood friends. Shinichi, Kyoya oniisan, Ryoki oniisan, Misaki and some of our other friends.
Yuu : (smiles) Its such a wonderful memory.
Shori : Yes. Thats why i wanna use this way. Coz if we had taken the train or the carriage, we wont see this scenery.
Yuu : (blushes)
Shori : keep this scenery in ur memory okay? Now, if we go down this hill, we will be at the Helencia Kingdom Central Town.

Shori releases Yuu's hand but she grabbed it back since she needs some help when going down the hill. As they reached the bottom, Yuu can only see buildings made of bricks like the ancient Roman building. Everything amazed Yuu as if she has gone time travelling to the past.

Shori : This is the other world which i mentioned. I dont mean litterally another world but its like a different atmosphere than the one we're living in. Most of the people who live here are magicians or Chrome users. There're also guilds here.
Yuu : are u sure we didnt go time travelling or something..? (worried)
Shori : (laughs) nah. Before this Helencia Kingdom is only lived by magicians and Chrome users. But years later the king wants to make this kingdom a universal kingdom so he built a city for normal people to live in together with the magicians and Chrome users. Most of the jobs in the guild are asked by normal people in the main city.
Yuu : (amazed) you know so much Kiryuu kun.
Shori : Not really. I still want to know more about the history of the Chromes and mainly the history of this kingdom.
Yuu : you sure have a great ambition in mind, do u?
Shori : Well, maybe coz that was wht i needed when i was small. But now i dont think i need to know any of that..
Yuu : but it makes u more curious deshou (smiles)
Shori : ahahaha kind of.
Yuu : I would like to be part of ur party. Can i?
Shori : what party?
Yuu : in finding the history.
Shori : (seriously joking) It might be dangerous if u follow me, Koizumi.
Yuu : Ill be fine.
Shori : (tightens his grip on Yuu's hand)

They walked past the Central Town of Helenci Kingdom. They met lots of magicians with weapons such as bass, guns, sheathed swords, katana, bows etc along their way. They even managed to speak to the citizens and having their wonderful time there.

Yuu : Kiryuu kun, Ive been wondering where is ur other friend?
Shori : shinichi?
Yuu : (nods)
Shori : oh, he has business to attend today.
Yuu : eh?
Shori : He is the son of the current Prime Minister of Helencia Kingdom Main City.
Yuu : (makes a fear face) wha.. wha... wha.. whaat??
Shori : He's the son of a well-known man and yet he still befriends me. He's such a nice guy!!
Yuu : ............ [thats not the issue here...] ...........

MEANWHILE

Fukushima Shinichi loosen his necktie with a frowning face. Someone passes by him.

Ryoki : You actually look good in suit, Shinichi kun. (smirks)

Ryoki continues to walk. Shinichi stares at him as if he wants to attack him. He tightens his clenches.

"Shinichi, what are you doing there? Hurry up and get back to the meeting."

Shinichi heard his father calling him. He turns his back and walks behind his father.

"What a bothersome. If only ur big brother is here, i wouldnt hve to bring a not-so-good son.(complains)"

Shinichi heard the insult that his father poured on him. But that doesnt bother him since he's used to be treated like that. The only thing thats in his mind is his friend, Kiryuu Shori.

CENTRAL TOWN

Yuu : umaaiiiiii~!!

Yuu exclaimed as she bites the strawberry ice cream topping.

Shori : You do like ice creams eh?
Yuu : Un! Because its cold. Didnt u buy one for urself?
Shori : nah. Im fine. Im not really a fan of sweet stuffs.
Yuu : ahh! Gomen nasai....
Shori : Its okay. Its not like I hate them or what [only that Shinichi exagarates when he buys the whole cake. Tht makes me irritated]
Yuu : You should have said so earlier so we can eat something else.

Yuu had lost her appetite to continue eating though it is veery delicious. Shori noticed her reaction. He comes closer to Yuu and have a bite on her ice cream.

Shori : Yum. Delicious. Maybe i really should have bought on or myself.
Yuu : Kiryuu kun...
Shori : do they have vanilla flavoured??
Yuu : They have green tea flavoured (smiles)
Shori : Wait here. Im gonna buy one for myself.
Yuu : Haii~!

Shori walks towards the ice cream truck. He lined up. He bought the green tea flavoured ice cream as suggested by Yuu. When he comes back to the bench where Yuu was sitting on earlier, she is nowhere to be seen. He sat down calmly thinking that maybe she had went to the toilet. Suddenly he felt something wet on his palm when touching the bench. He looks at his palm and it was the traces of strawberry flavoured. He startled. He looks on the floor and he saw an unfinished ice cream cone with the strawberry flavoured ice cream messing on the floor. He had a bad feeling.

Shori : [Koizumiii!!]

Chapter 13

Shori softly blurt out..

"Misaki....."

Yuu looks at Shori who's still looking at the photo. He was too immerse with the photo that he unconciously took a step forward, letting go of Yuu's hand. Before the tip of Kiryuu Shori's finger leaves Koizumi Yuu's hand, in a sudden she gripped Shori's hand making Shori comes back to his senses.

Yuu : Ano!!! My hand... its cold right..??? Ahahaha.... U might think its because of the wind, but actually its not. My brother, Hikari chan and even the doctor says its cold. I wonder if Im cold blooded. Hora, mammals are normally warm blooded right? So.. sometimes i think... am i a fish?? Or a mermaid.. haha... even if u hug me ull feel like ure hugging a snowman.. hehe...etto... sono.. you know.. when i was.. umm...

Shori was shocked because of the sudden grip by an icy cold hand and now he's dumbfounded looking at the young girl who's struggling to say something even if its not related. She not even looking at him. Shori suddenly laugh. Hearing the sudden laughter, Yuu looks at Shori sternly.

Yuu : Mouu!! Why are you laughing!!
Shori : Ive never met anyone who claim to be a mermaid before.
Yuu : Well im so sorry about my lack of knowledge on science but noone has ever laugh this badly for my statement.
Shori : gomen gomen (continues laughing)
Yuu : mou!! Yamete yoo.
Shori : Omoshire sugiru!!
Yuu : Ill freeze u to death!!
Shori : Ill revive after with fire
Yuu : even my brother and Ryoki sama didnt laugh this bad.
Shori : thats because they felt sorry for u since ure their only baby or something.
Yuu : Im not a baby!!
Shori : hahahahaha.

They continued arguing and laughing until they realized that their hands are still connected. When they realized it, immediately they release each others hand. Yuu turns around and covers her face with both her palms, her warm hands that was heated earlier by Shori's naturally hot hands. Shori smiles and comes closer.

Shori : (whispers) are u serious about the hug thingy?
Yuu : please forget it......
Shori : I cant. My memory is pretty strong you know.
Yuu : just.... forget it... please..
Shori : (smiles) haha

Shori : Ne, you said that u lost ur earlier memories right?
Yuu : (turns and looks at Shori while nodding her head)
Shori : since u told me about urself, let me tell u about myself.
Yuu : Nn?? (curious)
Shori : (points to the photo) That girl, the Missing Princess Kuhouin Misaki oujosama, she was my childhood friend.
Yuu : eh?? R u a ministers son or something?
Shori : haha. No. Im just a normal person. But my parents knew them so we end up being friends.
Yuu : Now that explains why u were so familiar with the 2 princes.
Shori : Yeah. Sort of.
Yuu : (looks at the photo) She's pretty.
Shori : Sou. (turns to Yuu) If you have a shorter hair, you look exactly like Misaki.
Yuu : (blushes) eh.. sonna... dont put me on the same level as the Princess.
Shori : Im serious.
Yuu : When did she get missing?
Shori : On her 10th birthday party. 5 years ago. Ever since that day I always avoid coming to this place.
Yuu : because youre scared of the memories?
Shori : i dont know.
Yuu : Or maybe because you still cant accept the fact that she's gone.
Shori : (hard to admit)
Yuu : demo ne Kiryuu kun, i still wish i could have my memories. U can at least remember their faces and the moments u had spent together.
Shori : I guess both of us wish something tht we cant have.
Yuu : Humans.. we can never be contented with what we have.
Shori : arigatou Koizumi.
Yuu : eh?
Shori : before this i could never see her photo anymore. But now thanks to you i can accept the fact.
Yuu : ah.. iie.. its not because of me. Its because of ur ownself Kiryuu kun. Youre strong but u just dont realize it.
Shori : But i still thank you. (smile)

Though the room is dark, Koizumi Yuu could see the smile on Kiryuu Shori's face. He grabbed her hand and hugs her. Yuu is shocked that she couldnt move.

Shori : ah. So its true. It does feels cold hugging you.
Yuu : $^@*@/#& [..... attatakai... ]

MONDAY

The homeroom teacher of Class 1A comes inside the class. Everyone remain silent putting on a bored face. Monday.... blue monday..

Sensei : Ohayou minna.
All : Ohayo gozaimassu.
Sensei : Therell be a new student entering your class. Come inside.

The door opens. A girl with a long brownish hair enters. She bows to everyone and introduce herself.

Yuu : Koizumi Yuu desu. Yoroshiku onegaishimassu.

Everyone whispers among themselves.

"Isnt she cute?"
"Koizumi?? Koizumi Kyoya senpai little sister?"
"They dont look alike though.."
"Cousins maybe?"

Sensei : Everyone, please treat her kindly since she's new to this place. Help her around but dont be a nuisance to her. Okay, now open your Mathematics text book. (continues)

Everyone keep on staring at Koizumi Yuu even during classes. Yuu felt uncomfortable. She keeps on brushing her hand through her brown long hair, unintentionally attracting the boys attention to her. She tighten her eyes.

FLASHBACK OF LAST NIGHT

Yuu took out a bottle that was in the plastic bag and looked at it.

Kyoya : Whts that Ryoki?
Ryoki : Hair dye. Its brown color so I dont think there's any problem with it.
Kyoya : U mean u want Yuu to dye her hair??
Yuu : eh?? Me?
Ryoki : Sou. (holds the end of Yuu's hair and kiss it) U would do it for me right, Yuu? I really like this color. (charmingly)
Yuu : Hai, Ryoki sama (runs into her room)

Ryoki draws up a satisfaction smile while Kyoya looks at him with an opposite expression.

Kyoya : Youre the worst, Ryoki....
Ryoki : Dont worry. The dye is not permanent. Itll wash away after 3 times washing.
Kyoya : (walks to the kitchen) Do whatever you want.
Ryoki : ..(whispers) though its quite sad to not see her in her beautiful silk hair..
Kyoya : did u say something?
Ryoki : talking to myself.

END FLASHBACK

IN THE STUDENT COUNCIL ROOM

Shori : Here's the report that Ive made. (hands over the report book to Ryoki) From my discussion with Shiraishi Sakura senpai, its positive tht the Lunar Students are innocent. First because the attack incident happens outside of the school area, while the Lunar Students are not allowed to go out of the school areas. Second, the earliest incident happens around 6.15 pm to 7 pm and the latest is at 10 pm to 12 pm. Only one person was attacked at 3 am. The argument is, curfew for Lunar Students starts at 5.45 to 6 pm. So there're no possibilities that the Lunar students had attacked them.

The head of the Student Council, Kuhouin Ryoki oujisama listens to Kiryuu Shori's explaination attentively while reading the report itself.

Ryoki : You have done quite a deep investigation, Shori kun.
Shori : Innocent people are inoocent. They cant be accused for something that they didnt do.
Ryoki : (looks at Shori into the eyes)
Shori : (uncomfortable) what?
Ryoki : (smiles) You are able to talk to me casually again. We havent been speaking to each other for 5 years.
Shori : well... thats because youre already in high school while im still in middle school.
Ryoki : You havent been visiting the castle too.
Shori : umm... theres no specific reason on why should i go there..
Ryoki : Haruki is there. So do I.
Shori : (no excuses)..aah....
Ryoki : Guess it was a good idea helding the party in the Helencia Castle.
Shori : (turns) eh? What do you mean?
Ryoki : (smiles) now go back to ur class. You dont wanna miss ur lesson do u? Thanks for the report, Shori kun. (walks to the door)
Shori : Wait! Hold on a minute. So u mean, u held the party there so I would come to the castle?? Or so I could...

Before Shori could finish his sentence, Ryoki turns and looks at Shori with an intense gaze. Shori gulped.

Ryoki : Mata ne, Shori kun.

Ryoki went out of the room leaving Shori in confusion.

BREAK TIME

Shori : (ruffling his hair) mou... that Ryoki san... wht does he really mean...

As he walks out to the garden, something caught his attention.

On the other side of the garden, Koizumi Yuu heads to thr bench thats shaded by a big tree. Though she settles there and opens her lunch box, her eyes keeps on moving here and there.

Mikan : Are u waiting for Hamano Hikari?(comes forward)
Yuu : ah (bows) umm.. ure?
Mikan : Asahina Mikan. In the same class as you. May I??
Yuu : dozo onegaishimassu.
Mikan : (sits) Koizumi... so ure Koizumi Kyoya senpai's..??
Yuu : Imouto desu.
Mikan : But u dont really look like him.
Yuu : hehe. Sou desu ne. Ive been told about that though.
Mikan : Im also a new student this year. Yoroshiku ne.
Yuu : Hai, yoroshiku onegaishimassu, Asahina san. Umm.. can i ask u something?
Mikan : sure.
Yuu : Why is your school uniform's color different? Or did I get a wrong one?
Mikan : Im a Lunar Students. Lunar students wear thr green striped uniform while normal students wear blue striped uniform.
Yuu : Lunar... students??
Mikan : Sou yo. Lunar students are those who have Chrome magic abilities.
Yuu : etto.... Chrome??
Mikan : (looks at Yuu as if examining her) ...... where are you from..? America?
Yuu : (tongues out) ehe!
Mikan : (sigh) Okay let me tell you. Chrome are people who are granted ecriture magic. Like this.

Mikan waves her hand and ecriture of a computer with texts appears.

Mikan : This is my Chrome, Information. There are many types of Chrome users outside. And as u hear from the news, many crimes nowadays are done by Chrome users. Even the police have a hard time handling them. So last year, the Principal of Helencia Gakuen decided to make a new generations of Chrome users by making them able to socialize with the normal people. So now here we are.
Yuu : huu~n. Sou ka..
Mikan : and its not like people can stop producing Chrome users. Not every Chrome parents bears Chrome child. Even normal parents had a shock receiving a Chrome child.
Yuu : Do u live with ur parents?
Mikan : No. Lunar Students have to stay in the dorms of this school.
Yuu : Arent Chrome magic supposed to be a secret?
Mikan : (looks at Yuu with mouth open again)........ seriously, in which century are u living..?
Yuu : (tongue out)
Mikan : nope. We dont have to.
Yuu : If its like that then I too---

Yuu's sentence was cut off when someone calls Mikan's name. Both girls turns and saw Kiryuu Shori standing ahead.

Mikan : Kiryuu kun

Kiryuu Shori looks at Koizumi Yuu without a single eyebat. He walks forward towards Yuu. Asahina Mikan is not seen within Shori's vision. As he was 2 steps away from Yuu, he hugged her.

Shori : [its cold..]

"Ahhhh!!! Baka Kiryuu sama!!!"
"Hands off her, Baka Kiryuu sama!!"
"It doesnt meant that ure the Class President you can do whtever u want!!"
"Go and get him guyss!!"

The other boys from his class who noticed what had happened ran after Shori. Shori pull himself apart and start running away.

Shori : Mata atode, Koizumii!!!

Mikan : ................. (stares)
Yuu : [he noticed me even though i dyed my hair?]
Mikan : Do u know Kiryuu?
Yuu : (shocked)

Yuu turns around and draw an innocent smile on her face.

Phone rings.

Hikari : moshi moshi, yuu chan. Doushitano?
Yuu : Hikari chan, r u not coming to school?
Hikari : ahh! Today is ur first day of school right? Gomen gomen. Ill be coming late, maybe before lunch.
Yuu : Are u sick?
Hikari : Iie iie. Im at the...

Hikari glanced to the grave thats infront of her.

Hikari : Im at the graveyard now. See you later, Yuu chan.

Hikari taps the end call button.

IN SCHOOL

Yuu stares at her phone. She kept her phone in her side pocket and sighed while placing both her arms on the railing. She lets the wind to play around with her hair. She looks at the tip of her hair which are dancing with the wind infront of her.

Yuu : i must look like a weirdo with this colour..

"You do"

Yuu turns around with a shock.

Shori : I like it better with ur silky colored hair.
Yuu : (blushes)
Shori : ah. And im sorry for hugging you just now. Its just im not sure whether its u or not so i just..
Yuu : Its okay. But.. i dont look like Misaki hime now, do i?
Shori : (smile) nope u dont.

Yuu was happy with that statement. At least now Shori will look at her as her own existance. Not the silhouette of his old friend, The Missing Princess, Kuhouin Misaki.
