Chapter 8

Koizumi Yuu heads towards the front door fully casual clothes with her hair tied and a cap on. Her brother, Koizumi Kyoya noticed her and stopped her.

Kyoya : Yuu, where are u going?
Yuu : Kon-bini
Kyoya : (grabs Yuu's arm) Dame. U cant go outside.
Yuu : But oniichan... Ill be fine. The doctor even said Im fully recovered.
Kyoya : No is no. Stay inside the house.
Yuu : (pouts) nande da yo?
Kyoya : I dont want to take the risk. (looks away)
Yuu : But oniichan....
Kyoya : Bad people are roaming outside. Its dangerous. Just listen to me and dont go outside.

Yuu looks at his uncomfortable brother. Usually she would just pouts and runs to her room while screaming "oniichaan daii kiraii". But she just answered her brother politely and sat on the couch, removing her cap.

OUtSIDE

Shori stands in front of a cake shop with his both his arms crossed. A minute later Shinichi came out with a box of cake.

Shinichi : sorry for taking long.
Shori : u can go and eat that in Ken chan's room. Dont eat it in the kitchen.
Shinichi : I know I know. But maybe ill cut a piece and leave it in ur room for the mice to have a party.
Shori : Ill hate u till i die
Shinichi : Im joking (comes closer)
Shori : (moves away) Dont come closer. U reek of sugar.
Shinichi : I cant believe that u can eat any other sweet things besides cake.
Shori : The icing is awful... i have a bad memory abt tht...

"Kiryuuu sama~~"

Both of them look ahead. One boy among the group waves towards them.

"Where are u from"

One of them spotted the cake box in Shinichi's hand.

"Heee~h. Kiryuu sama, I didnt know that u start liking cakes."
Shori : No i dont. Its this guy who's eating it.
"Plus its a big size"
Shori : with my little cousin.

These boys are the participants of the volleyball game. They were just returning from practice in the game centre.
Suddenly
All of them were surrounded by boys who had sticks and iron rods in their hand. They were all smirking.

"So these are the guys who attacked the other participants..."
"Be careful"
"Remember, no violance"
Shori : theyre not from the school (whispers to Shinichi)
Shinichi : Cover me. Ill try to 'capture' their shadow.

Shori nodded. They boys flung whatever they have in their hand towards Helencia Gakuen students. Shori indicated that they must run away. They obeyed as soon as they found an opening. Shori ran to a corner and came back. The students were out of sight. Shori smiled. They all surrounded him and Shinichi.

Shori : Leave this to me.
Shinichi : As long as u dont overheat my cake.

Shori emitted fire in both of his palm and make a 360° degree turn while casting the fire.

Shinichi : [Shori...]

NEXT DAY

"Eeh! Maji dee. They attacked u all???"
"Ah.. luckily we managed to run away na, Kiryuu sama."
"But Kiryuu sama... seems sick.."

Shori's upper body is flat on the table. He face is turning blue as he looks at his bento. They laughed as they say a big piece of cake in his bento. Shori looks at Shinichi who's seating next to the window. He smiles.

Hikari : Kyaaaa~ I cant wait for Sports Event. I just loooove the wind at that timee.
Yuu : wind..??
Hikari : ah. Never mind me. Ne, do u know how will th Sports Event be?
Yuu : (shooks her head)
Hikari : ur brother doesnt tell u?
Yuu : well.. i dont really ask my brother abt school..
Hikari : now that ure saying, i wonder what do u always talk about with ur brother.
Yuu : umm.. go on with the Sports Event. I wanna know. Hahaha
Hikari : Right. The students are divided into 3 groups. Aka, Ao and Midori. Class 1A 2B and 3C are Ao. 1B 2C and 3A will be Aka. The rest will be Midori. Each team will wear their respective matchit color clothes.
Yuu : (nodded) un un.
Hikari : On the day event, the school is open for the public. Since our school is enrolled by rich people, parents tend to come to have a look at their childrens academic and cocuriculum achievements.
Yuu : ure speaking out of experience.
Hikari : my mom used to come and chck my late sisters cocuriculum activites. Plus she was the Head of the Cheerleading Squad and number 1 acrobatic dancer.
Yuu : (amazed)
Hikari : Ehem. Sports games are held 3 days before the actual day. Like baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, archery, kendo and so on. On the actual day, therell only be tug of war and telematch. Aaaannnddd at night therell be a ball dance party.
Yuu : partyy??
Hikari : Sou sou. Party yo. With elegant dresses and gowns, boys with their tuxido and suits. Its because this year the one sponsoring is the seitou kaichou himself. Im still wondering who is he though. Being able to set up a grand party like year. I mean, before this we have a normal school party. Grand though.. but this years location will not be at school.
Yuu : eeh. Where?
Hikari : Shiranai yo. Only the council members know abt it.
Yuu : hmm. Now i feel like going
Hikari : u cant?
Yuu : I will. Since my brother will be there.
Hikari : everyone will be so excited to see u since ure the seitou fuku kaichou's little sister.
Yuu : (embarrased) sonna masaka
Hikari : honto yo. Ur brother is sooo famous in school. Plus he's been handling the Student Council work since Kaichou is not her in Japan.
Yuu : Hikari chan u know a loot
Hikari : mochiruun (smug) thts how i got to know u even though ure stucked in this house the whole time.

Yuu gasped. Now she's really thinking on how did she end up bring friends with Hamano Hikari a 1st year student of Helencia Gakuen whom her brother doesnt know her before nor did Yuu ever go out of the house and find friends. Strange but lets leave that as a gift from fate.

NEXT DAY

Koizumi Kyoya entered the Student Council Room. He was a bit shocked because the door was not locked.

"Hisashiburi ne, Kyoya"

Kyoya recognized that voice. So too the way he speaks. Kyoya dashed to the Kaichou's table.

Kyoya : Ryoki!! (excited) ah gomen. I mean (bows) Ohayou gozaimassu Kuhouin Ryoki oujisama
Ryoki : (smiles)

Shori : What?? He's here already??
Hikari : Sou yo. He is in the Student Council though i dont know who is it.
"Mou Hikari chan.. if u dont know who is he, how do u know that he is the Kaichou?"
Hikari : my guts and my guts is always 100% correct.
Shori : ..kaichou ka..... [it cant be him darou...]
"Wht do u wanna tell us earlier Kiryuu sama?"
Shori : oh yeah. Im pasting the agenda for the Sports Event starting on wednesday till on saturday. So please take note on ur games' time and venue.
"When is basketball game?"
Shori : on Thursday at 3.15 in basket ball main court.

Eveyone looked at Shori with a snicker on their face. Shori looks at them innocently and he realized in a split second.

Shori : (flustered) ah!!! chigauu. Its not like im remmebring it only. I remember the entire schedule by heart. Seriously!!
"Heeeh. We did not say anything Kiryuu sama."
Shori :( angry pouting face)
"Yoshaa!! Few days left till the game. Lets train till our sweat finish"
"Osuuu"

The days pass by. Games starts on Wednesday without any interruption by anyone. Koizumi Yuu comes to school together with her brother but mostly spends time with Hamano Hikari. Same goes to thursday and friday and the last day, saturday which is the main sports day awaited by the Helencia Kingdom..

Chapter 7 Shocking incidents.

SUNDAY

The inhabitants of Kiryuu Household are having a tough time. Since its sunday, they decided to clean the house and change the position of the furnitures. While packing the boxes on the upper cupboard...

Shinichi : Kiyo tsukete, Shori. (passing by with a bucket of dirty water)
Shori : (struggles) wakatt... ta yo....
Ken : Sho chan, look upwards.

Shori lifts his gaze and he saw a box falling, he tried to catch it beforehand but (the sounds of tumbling on the ground)
Shinichi puts the bucket on the floor and dashes towards the fallen Shori.

Shinichi : I told u to be careful.
Shori : itte te.....
Ken : Daijoubu, Sho chan??
Shori : ah (smiles at Ken) Im fine Ken

Shori felt something cold as he places his palm on the floor. He looks at it. It was a frame. He picked it up. Both Shinichi and Ken crowded infront of the frame.

Ken : waaah!! Young Sho chan and Shin chan! (excited)
Shori : (dazes while looking at the picture)
Shinichi : (leans on Shori's back) Do u wanna play basketball?
Shori : (realizes) ah.. no way

Shori immediately place the frame in the box, tidy it up, picks it up on the stairs and keeps it far from reach. Shinichi just looks at Shori.

Shori : What? (while climbing down the stairs)
Shinichi : Lets quit school.
Shori : Ha?? Are u okay, Shin?
Shinichi : Lets find ur parents.
Shori : (shocked)

Shinichi looked at Shori intensely. Shori scratches his head. He sat down on the couch, breath in deeply and exhale it.

Shori : Shin... why do u worry so much about me?
Shinichi : Do i have to answer that question?
Shori : (dazes) Tetsu....

AT SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY

Mikan : Ive already submitted the names to Class 3C Class President. I even gave Class 2B the same list in case they needed it. And here's a copy for u.
Shori : Arigatou

As Asahina Mikan slided the paper on Kiryuu Shori's table, he notices the bandage in the middle of her palm. He looks at her.

Shori : What wrong with ur hand?
Mikan : ......

FLASHBACK 2 DAYS AGO

After Shori left the classroom. Hamano Hikari told Asahina Mikan to write down the 5 basketball players in the list.

"Lets go home. Too bad we cant persuade Kiryuu sama"
"Yeah. Lets just keep that as a memory"
Hikari : Mikan chan lets go home.
Mikan : (looks at her)
Hikari : ah.... i mean.. let me send u to ur dorm.. (tongue out)
Mikan : Go ahead. I have to send this to the Class 3C Class President.
Hikari : okay. Mata ne.

Mikan was left alone in the classroom. She finished pack her stuff and went out of the class with the paper that has the list of the game participants. She made her way to Class 3C. On her way, suddenly her sling school bag's belt ripped off. Some books and stationaries fell out of her bag. She felt a little sting on her palm which previously holds the belt of her bag. She looks at it and it has traces of blood on it.

[Must be from the friction of the belt... ]

She looks at her scattered stuffs on the floor. She bends to pick them up.

[I did zipped my bag, didnt I]

While picking up her stuffs, she remembered about the paper that she was holding earlier. She looked around. She saw 2 boys, wearing the school uniform with green stripes which indicates that they are Chrome Students.

"Yare yare ojousan. Youre still here in school"

Mikan ignores them.

"Arent you looking for this paper"

The boy waves a piece of paper which is not unfamiliar to Asahina Mikan. Mikan stood up and headed on their direction.

Mikan : Hai. Please return it to me, senpai (bows)
"Ahh. Youre such a good girl. Here, be careful next time. U wouldnt want someone else to get the names of the participants do u? (smiles sarcastically)
Mikan : ?? (confused)
"And do comeback early. Curfew is at 6.40 pm 1st year chan"

END FLASHBACK

Shori looks at her bag on the side of her table. It was sewn pretty clumsily. He chuckles.

Shori : You should give ur bag to Hamano. She'll sew it nicely for you.
Mikan : Hitsuyou nai desu. (gets back to her seat)

Hikari passes by and saw Mikan's bag. She shriek.

Hikari : Ahh!! Mikan chaan! Let me sew them for youuu!! This is sooo bad!! Who sew this for youuu!! (excited in a different level)

Mikan snapped. Shori tried to hide his chuckling but it turn out to be a laughter. Mikan snapped.

AT NIGHT

A phone conversation between 2 girls.

Hikari : Sore de ne. I had to sew Mikan chan's bag because I cant take looking at a bad sewing. Luckily I always had a knit pack in my bag.
Yuu : (laughs) Hikari chan really likes sewing.
Hikari : Sou sou. My mother is a fashion designer so i guess... her genes is within me (laughs) Jaa. Mata ashita ne.
Yuu : Hai. Mata ashita.

Both of them hang up.

Kyoya : Both of u can talk for hours ne
Yuu : Mou oniichaan. She is my first friend you know.
Kyoya : I know I know.
Yuu : (lies down and dazes om the ceiling) Ne oniichan... Can I go watch the Sport Event?
Kyoya : We'll see.
Yuu : (sits up and pouts) nande da yo? I can go to school after Sports Event but why cant I go during it?
Kyoya : (looks at the pouting Yuu) Yuu, tomorrow by 3 u must be ready okay? Ill come home and we'll go for ur last appoinment at the hospital.
Yuu : (dives her face in the pillow) Yada! Doctor kirai. Oniichan kirai.
Kyoya : (smiles sympathically)

Kyoya's phone rang. Both of them recognizes the ring tone. Yuu looks at Kyoya.

Kyoya : Moshi moshi, Ryoki.
Ryoki : Kyoya, do u miss me?
Kyoya : (blushes) wha... Ill hang up.
Ryoki : Im joking. Hows the Student Council?
Kyoya : Everythings fine, according to schedule. When r u coming back?
Ryoki : My flight is at 2 am tomorrow. But I still have things to attend to.
Kyoya : on the actualy day of sports event will u be here?
Ryoki : As the Kaichou I have to be there dont I?
Kyoya : Suit urself, Kaichou sama.
Ryoki : (laughs) Jaa, Kyoya. See u. Ah! One more thing. Chuu--

Kyoya hung up.

Ryoki smiled as he noticed the call ended.

Ryoki : Even though that was for Yuu chan. (places his phone down) A 15 year old Kiryuu Shori, I wonder how have u grown up.

AT THE SAME TIME

A group of boys were wandering around the cafe.

"Aahhh~ Training is damn hard"
"But we need to win the first place this year"
"Training comes like raining. Ahh. A pun"
"Shut up. Its not funny at all"
"(laughs)"
"You actually laughedd!!"

As they were walking down the alley they were ambushed by a group of boys that looks like a yankee group. They laughed evilly. One of them spoke out.

"Class 2A baseball participants"

They jumped on the baseball participants.

NEXT DAY

Rumors spread fast in a community. Its like a contagious disease.

"Have you heard about it? Class 2A forfeit from baseball game!!"
"Eh. Honto??? Nande??"
"I heard they were attacked.. all of them are absent and the number one player amongst them is in the hospital. He was badly injured."
"Oh my... they were coming back from training in a game centre last night.."
"But they were not robbed arent they??"
"I dont think so. Nothing was lost last night"
"Zannen... it will only be the match between the 2B and 2C"

But it did not happened to that class only. Other participants from other classes were also attacked. Whether they are participants from Tug of War game, tennis game, Chess game, quizes, acrobatic show game, cheer leading contest, male or female, 1st year or 2nd year or 3rd year, they are mostly the target of being attacked. Because of this incident, less people from each class will compete.

STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING ROOM

Kurumi : I told youu Fuku Kaichou Koizumi Kyoya san. This must be the doing of the Chrome students.

Everyone looked at the 3rd year female senpai.

Kurumi : Who has the quality to cause uproars in an event. Only the Chrome students. We should have really banned them from participating.
"Kurumi san. The Sport Event hasnt commence as yet. Plus jow are you sure its the doing of the Chrome Students. It may be caused by the Chrome users outside."
Kurumi : And why would they do that.
"Why would 'they' do that.

Kurumi remained silent. She gritted her teeth.

Kyoya : The Sport Event will proceed as normal. Since noone else is injured besides the participants, we cant stop nor postpone the tradition of Helencia Gakuen. Dismiss.

Everyone spoke amongst themselves after the meeting. As Shori walked outside, he was confronted by Miss Kurumi.

Shori : ano.....
Kurumi: Ne (pointing at Shori) I dont know why are you the
executive member of the council while ure just a 1st year brat. Just to make sure, I will keep an eye on those friends of yours. I get the feeling that ure a Chrome though u wear the normal uniform of this school. (walks away) My instinct never betrays me.
Shori : ..... hai.....

As Kurumi disappeared from his sight, he heard a chuckle next to him.

Shinichi : kimi ga Chrome da... tte yo...
Shori : Urusai.
Shinichi : Even though u hate them.
Shori : I wonder whats going on.
Shinichi : About her?
Shori : (disgusted look) Iie... kankenai.. About what happened to the participants of the games..

Chapter 6 : Getting ready for the Sports Event

Shori croutches on the floor, tightly gripping his stomach. Its in pain because of the punchs and kicks that he received from the Chrome users. Blood flows from the side of his lips.

"(smirks) Ha! Now who will save u. Serves u right for intefering in my business, Hero chan."

Shori suddenly smiles and not long after he chuckles. Those Chrome users were suprised with Shori's sudden change of expression. Kiryuu Shori stood up and looked at them with a stern look. The Chrom users stepped back. Shori's eyes shone fire red. He sways his hand sideways and in a blink of an eye, fire spread towards them. They tried to fight back but they couldnt. They cast Chrome magic on him but he repelled it with his fire.

"Wh.... what the hell is this guy"

Exclaimed the suprised Chrome user. They all make a run away. But alas, the guy with the spectacle trilled and fell down. Shori make his way towards him. He grabbed him by his collar and held him up high.

"Ha... hanasee!!! Oii!! Help mee stupid Chrome users"

The guy screamed for help from the others. But they had already vanished from sight. He looked at Shori with eyes of fear.

"Le.... let me gg-go..."
Shori : (evil smile) Listen here. Chrome users r strong and somehow they are often used for this kind of work. But remember, they have 0% of loyalty. So let me teach u on how to handle them"

Shori punched his stomach and flung him to the wall. Blood spurt oyt of his mouth whrn his back hits the hard wall. He coughs and Shori advanced to his direction. As he tried to grab him again, suddenly....

"You can stop now, Shori"

Supposedly there are only the 2 of them. The 3rd person held on to Shori's neck gently. Shori looked at him.

Shori : Shinichi.

Fukushima Shinichi smacked Shori's neck with the side of his palm making Shori to fall down unconcious. Before he could even fall on the ground, Shinichi grabbed him by his waist. He gave a stern look at the guy whom Shori attacked earlier.

Shinichi : Dont play with woods in case u summon the fire.

That was his last word before he left the area carrying his unconcious friend.

IN THE INFIRMARY

Kiryuu Shori moves. He squeezes his eyes and managed to open them. The first thing that he saw when he woke up is.....
Fukushima Shinichi's face. That was very close to his own face. He could actually smell his shampoo.

Shori : Gyaaaa!!!

Shori screamed and unconciously punched Shinichi.

Shori : wha... what are u doing?
Shinichi : now ure awaken. Ive been trying to wake u up but nothing helps. So maybe if i kiss u u would wake up.
Shori : Im not a sleeping beauty... (looks around)

Shinichi stood up and pour plain water into a cup.

Shinichi : Its the infirmary. (offers the cup filled with water)
Shori : arigatou.. did u carry me here?
Shinichi : What do u think?
Shori : (sips) Im sorry. I didnt expect that to happen.
Shinichi : So the role changed huh? Rather than being attacked, youre the one who attacked.
Shori : (looks at his hand and bury his face in his palm) I really shouldnt have use my magic....
Shinichi : Its too late to say that. Once u used it, its hard to leave it.
Shori : (smiles) Talking out of experience. Thts why youre always using ur shadow magic on me.
Shinichi : (smiles and gently smacks Shori on his face) Rest, okay? We'll go home after the last bell rings.

AFTER SCHOOL

Shori : Im fine Shin. I can do it myself.
Shinichi : Dont worry. Ill help u.
Shori : (struggles) Shin... ah~
Shinichi : (exhale) Ill be very gentle, Shori.
Shori : no... not there...

Both their voices could be heard till outside of the infirmary. Two girls passing by the infirmary room stopped and blushes as they heard THAT conversation. Their faces became redder as they let their imagination run wild. Suddenly the door of the room slides open from inside.

"ah.."

The four of them looked at each other. Shori had his right hand over Shinichi's shoulder as Shinichi helps him to walk.

Shori : Hamano? Do u need something from sensei? He's not here though.

Hamano Hikari and her friend froze.

Shori : hmm? Why r both of ur faces red?
Hikari : (let out a big sigh while placing her left hand on her hips and her right hand on her forehead) U should really control ur sentence when u speak....
Shori : ???
Yuu : ah!! Youre from yesterday.

Shori looked at the girl with a waist level silky hair.

Hikari : Yuu chan, u know him?
Shori : oh yeah. The one who tried to cross the busy road yesterday.
Yuu : (blushes)
Hikari : (smiles) Now that makes things easier. Yuu chan, this is Kiryuu Shori, Class 1-A class president. And Fukushima Shinichi, Class 1-A too. Same class as me. Kiryuu kun and Fukushima kun, this is Yuu chan. Koizumi Yuu. She'll be attending this school after the Sports Event.
Shori : (charming smile) Yoroshiku, Koizumi san.
Yuu : (shy)Yo.. yoroshiku..
Hikari : Well see u later boys. Lets go Yuu chan. Or we'll miss your brother.
Yuu : oh.. okay.

Both of them went away.

Shori : koizumi.... sounds familiar..
Shinichi : (closer) Shall we continue where we left?
Shori : (redden) Urusai, baka.

A WEEK AFTER

The Student Council room is occupied right now.

"As per discussion, we shall announce the upcoming Sports Event to the students on this Wednesday. As its in tradition of this school Class 1A will be paired with Class 2B and Class 3C. Class 1B will be with Class 2C and Class 3A. Class 1C will be with Class 2A and Class 3B."

The other members jotted down the information mentioned by the Seitou Fuku kaichou, Koizumi Kyoya

"Ne"

Everyone had their attention to a girl who sat cross legged. She rested her right arm on her left hand and flipped the end of her hair sideways using her right hand.

"How about the Chrome users? I dont think we can let them participate in the Events. They'll just cause chaos and uproars and we'll be the ones having to set things right."

The rest whispered amongst themselves. Kiryuu Shori frowned.

"Well there no way that we can stop the Chrome users from participating since they are amongst the students here, Kurumi san. Them being here means them participating all school events."
"Im just suggesting because I wouldnt want anything bad to happen. Since we're talking about Chrome users here."
"I think thats all for today. We will give out the handouts of duties by tomorrow morning. Dismiss."

As Kiryuu Shori makes his way out of the room together with the other Council Members, Kyoya stopped him and indicated to him that he needs to talk to him.

Shori : Nani ga desu ka, Kyoya san?
Kyoya : Gomen ne, Shori kun, for whatever Kurumi san said.
Shori : (confused) Maa, its not like i take it as any offense. I am not a Chrome user.
Kyoya : I know. But ure in charge of the Chromes Students affairs right.
Shori : ......not tht i care abt them (looks away)
Kyoya : (smiles) You dont have to act, Shori kun. You've been interacting with the other Chrome Students these days.
Shori : ... um... its not a big deal isnt it..
Kyoya : (laughs and pats gently on Shori's back) Dont worry. For the Sports Event, maybe u can give them work to do that they can benefit using their Chrome. Example... like.. decorating the ceiling or.. making things shinier. Im sure theyll be happy to cooperate.
Shori : Ill see to that Kyoya san. Arigatou for the advice.
Kyoya : No problem, Sho chan.
Shori : (froze) Sho chan??
Kyoya : ah.. gomen gomen. I can still remember when we used to play together when we were small.
Shori : (embarrass) .... Jaa... Ill be going... Otsukare sama deshita.
Kyoya : Mata ne, Shori kun.

Shori opens the door of the Student Council Room.

"Gokurou sama deshita, Kiryuu sama."

That shocked Shori which made him take a step back.

Shori : (exhale) nanda... Asahina san ka....
Mikan : Taihen desu.
Shori : Nani ga?

Both of them speed up to their classroom.

"Kiryuu sama is here"(excited)
"Hurry hurry Kiryuu sama"
Shori : Whats going on?
Hikari : We're helping Mikan chan to decide on the games that we will be participating.
Shori : Hayai... [the announcement is only on this wednesday though]
Mikan : a 3rd year senpai came and gave us the list of games that 1st years are participating. (hands over the list)
Shori : Hmm (reading through)
Hikari : Dakaraaa~ Kiryuu kun (sly smile) We actually done with all the games except....... basketball.
Shori : Refuse.
"Ehhhhh. Nande Kiryuu sama?? Youre so gooood at it"
"Come on Kiryuu sama (slides his arm on Shori's shoulder) We have to win this year, darouu?"
Shori : yeah.. but it doesnt mean that i have to participate in basketball do i?

The boys looked at Shori with puppy eyes.

Shori : geh... dont look at me with those eyes.
"We wanna see u playing basketball again"
Shori : absolutely not. I told you guys before Im not playing basketball anymore. Im sure u 5 can do it. (pointing at 5 boys) u guys won last year's Inter- Mid.

The 5 boys looked at each other. At the same time, Fukushima opens the door and went outside.

Shori : Once u guys are done please pass it up to the 3rd year Class President, Asahina san.

Shori walks out of the room. Everyone sighed in disappoinment.

Chapter 5 : A First Friend

IN THE KOIZUMI RESIDENCE

Kyoya : Yuu, what are u staring at?

Yuu is just sitting on the couch with both her legs up, absent minded. She just left her towel on her head. Drops of water can be seen clear on her silky long hair.

Kyoya : Yuu (coming closer) why is ur hair still wet? (ruffles her hair with the towel thats on her head) you wouldnt want to be sick right?
Yuu : Oniichan.... how do u cross the road?
Kyoya : n? The bridge tht crosses the two sides of the road. Did u go up till tht highway?
Yuu : I went to the library today.
Kyoya : (relieved) i thought u went to the railway station.
Yuu : Dont worry oniichan, my friend was with me. And...... someone helped me. (smile)
Kyoya : (ruffles her hair roughly)
Yuu : ahh.. oniichan ( tries to move away)
Kyoya : (laughs)

NEXT DAY

Shori is facing the angry Shinichi. Shori tries to avert his sight away from Shinichi's eyes but he always revert it back. Shinichi shows him the letter that is in his hand.

Shori : Gomen gomen. U can read it seriously.
Shinichi : Its from that Chrome user.
Shori : ..yeah...
Shinichi : He said he wants to meet u.
Shori : ....okay...
Shinichi : behind the lab 2.
Shori : ... right...
Shinichi : and i dont allow it.
Shori : gomen gomen. Only this time okay? I promise
Shinichi : wht r u going to do if he attacks u?
Shori : (laughs) Shin... no way thats gonna happen.
Shinichi : do u think u can protect urslf?

Shori lifts his hand and snaps his fingers. Fire made its appearance. Shori agains moves his hand sideways. And the fire extinguishes.

Shinichi : i see uve been playing with the magic these days.
Shori : I cant help it.
Shinichi : .......
Shori : and ull help me when it happen again, right?
Shinichi : (looks at the letter) this Chrome is a second year?
Shori : yeah.. the one that almost lost his control.

AFTER SCHOOL

Hikari : gomen gomen nasaii
"But Hamano chan. We want to discuss about the project."
Hikari : hooonto ni gomen nasai. I have to do somthing.
Mikan : smthing?
Hikari : I need to go to the library with my friend.
"You can do it anothr day right?
Hikari : no no no.. i promised her brother that i would accompany her. (flung her bag on her shoulder) gomen ne (apologatic wink)
"Is she much more important than us, Hamano chan (sulk)"
Mikan : important? (as though first time hearing such words)
Hikari : Sou yo. Plus shes gonna be in our class. Jaa na.
Mikan : (whispers) friends..
"Did u say anything Chro.. ah.. I mean Asahina san..(tongue out)"
Mikan : ah.. nothing.. so lets see. Over here we need to

The girls continues their discussion and Hamano Hikari made her way out of the classroom. There she bumped into Shori and Shinichi. Hikari swiftly dodged the two boys.

Hikari : thanks for putting Asahina chan in charge.(waves and ran away)

Shori : Her magic matches her very well.
Shinichi : Unlike u.
Shori : looks whos talking.
Shinichi : (smiles) Im a shadow and my magic is shadow
Shori : (grins)

IN FRONT OF AN CONDOMINIUM.

Hikari rang the bell of the house. After 5 seconds, the door opened up. A girl with a long silky hair made her appearance. Her beautiful warm smile enlightens Hikari's mood.

Hikari : Yuu chaan. (hugs) have u been waiting for long?
Yuu : No, dozo onegaishimassu.

Hikari sits on the couch while Yuu prepares something to serve her first friend guest.

Yuu : Do u prefer coffee or tea, Hikari chan?
Hikari : (laughs) Dont worry Yuu chan. Plain cold water is fine. If u have any fruit cordeal, u can just bring it here. We can make it together.
Yuu : oh okay. Gomen nasai. Its the first time im having a guest here. (innocent smile)
Hikari : So really I am ur first guest? Your brother doesnt bring back friends or.... girl friend? (snicker)
Yuu : (laughs) mou, Hikari chan. You know my brother doesnt havr any girlfriend.
Hikari : well who knows. He shows off a nerd vibe but we wouldnt know how is he at home.
Yuu : The only friend that always always comes here is the Seitou Kaichou.
Hikari : Seitou Kaichou?? U know him?
Yuu : well.. sort of
Hikari : None of the first year and second year know the Seitou Kaichou of this year.
Yuu : really?? Why?
Hikari : saa ne.. (curious) so who is he?? (excited)
Yuu : Ull soon know. (smiles)
Hikari : ( sulk) not fair.... youre not even a student and yet u know. (smiles) Im really waiting for the day u enter this school.
Yuu : my brother says sooner. Im still on rehab.
Hikari : But yesterday ure fine when u went to the library.
Yuu : thts because u were there.
Hikari : Lets just hope ull get to be the same class as i am. So I can help with ur rehab.
Yuu : Hai. I think my brother is working on that.
Hikari : Good. Lets go the library now.
Yuu : (stood up) Let me get the books that I borrowed.
Hikari : Hai. Koko de matteru yo.

BEHIND THE LAB 2

Shori walks through the pavement alone. He has made Shinichi promised not to peek on him and he assures that he'll be fine. There he saw the Chrome student that he had helped the other day standing under a tree. Shori walks towards him.

Shori : Ano, senpai?
" ah.. kimi.."
Shori : Kiryuu desu. Ichinen class A.
" thanks for helping me yesterday. Let me buy u a drink"

The boy slips his right hand on Shori's shoulder, letting it hang on Shori's chest. He gripped his right hand to his his left hand, locking Shori is his embrace. He smirks. Shori looks ahead. He saw another few other boys came out smirking and laughing among themselves. Then a boy with the specatacle made his appearanc

Shori : you....
"You remember me, ichinen? You embarassed me by helping that Chrome user."

The guy whom Shori met earlier changed his face to his normal face.

Shori : You dislike Chrome but u actually use their services.
"Chrome r meant to be used. As long as I pay them well and they do their job."
Others : (laugh)
"Now u cant run away, Hero chan. Bash him badly, boys."

The boy that disguised as the Chrome held Shori tightly, unabling him to move. The one boy stepped forward and aimed at Shori's stomach. He punched him. Shori coughs. The othrs continues laughing.

MEANWHILE

Shinichi was taking his nap on the roof. But he suddenly wakes up and he had a bad feeling.

Chapter 4 : Searching for Chrome

Junhao : Heeh. I can see that you're interacting nicely with the Chrome students ne, Kiryuu kun.
Shori : (shocked) Junhao san....?
Junhao : (smile) Ni hao.

JunHao sudden presence shocked Kiryuu Shori and Fukushima Shinichi. Though Hamano Hikari had alredy sensed her from before.

Hikari : Ne ne what do you think if I participate in the acrobatic game. I can use the wind as I wish and noone will notice it.
JunHao : Isnt it better if you join the volleyball game. You can control the ball easily since its light
Both of the girls : Ne~ (giggles)
Shinichi : (disgusted + annoyed)
Shori : I didnt know that a 15 year old girl and a 21 year old adult can have the same level of thinking.
Hikari : Ah! Before you guys go, remember I have something to say.
Shori : We do. So make it snappy.

Hikari : From the incident that Junhao san has worked on till now, it seems like the Chromes definitely need a leader for them to move about easily.
JunHao : Correction. Chromes outside not the ones in school.
Hikari : Well nothing had happened so far so we wouldnt know for sure about the Chromes inside the school.
JunHao : hmm.. youre right. But if its concerning the Chrome I would still doubt them.

Hikari and Junhao continues their discussion.

Shori : Ne!

Both of them looks towards him.

Shori : So what i have in connection with this discussion? If not we're going home.
Hikari : Thats the main thing. You, Kiryuu Shori, youre going to play your part here.
JunHao : Yep. I agree (nods several times)
Shori : ha?
Hikari : Since youre the 1st year executive member of Student Council, plus youre in charge of the Chromes affair. Its easier for u to gain informations on the Chromes. Not only from them, even from the Kaichou himself....

Shori and Shinichi are having their own discussion about their dinner tonight.

Hikari : ah!! Dont ignore me bakatachiiii!!!
Shori : (turns) Im not interested.
Hikari : Demo Kiryuu kun.. we need ur help.
Shori : Why should I? Na, Shin?
JunHao : Listen Kiryuu kun, we the police officers wants to cut down the activities done by the Chromes. Especially the crimes. Most of the crimes are done by the Chromes.
Shori : i have nothing to do with your investigation, Police san. Jaa.

Shori and Shinichi walks away. Junhao and Hikari looks at each other.

AT HOME

When they reached home, they saw that Ken, Shori's little cousin was sleeping on the floor without any blanket.

Shori : Mattaku.. Ken chan.. why are you sleeping here? The floor's cold isnt? (picks Ken up)
Ken : Sho... chan... (half awake) Ive been.. waiting...
Shori : (gives a little peck on his forehead) Shin, Im gonna tuck him to bed.

Shinichi drops his school back and blazer, grabs Shori who still has Ken on his arm and kisses Shori.

Shori : Shin..?
Shinichi : (looks away) Go tuck him to bed first.

IN THE DINING TABLE

Shori : Shin! I know you have something to tell me right? So tell me!!
Shinichi : .......
Shori : Is it about what Hamano said?
Shinichi : I think its time already.
Shori : ... wht do u mean, Shin?
Shinichi : It has been 5 years since then. Dont you think its time already?
Shori : ......

Shori's gaze turns towards the photo that is on the side table of the hall. The picture of Shori's whole family together with Shinichi.

Shinichi : You can hide it from others but you cant hide it from yourself. We can use magic but we're not Chrome users. Why is that?
Shori : Shin... we have discussed this before right?
Shinichi : Shori (grabbed Shori's hand) yesterday, you let out fire right?
Shori : (sweats)
Shinichi : But you controlled it. Isnt that a success?
Shori : You know I dont want this power....
Shinichi : I know. I know you the most. But, until when are you going to be scared? Be scared of your powers, your identity, your existance?
Shori : I dont know.. Shin...
Shinichi : (smile) Im here for you remember. There, try to extinguish the fire.

Shori stood up from his place but Shinichi grabbed his hand.

Shinichi : Using your magic.

Shori gulps. He lifts his hand and move it downwards and the fire extinguishes.

Shinichi : See you did it. A little practice youll be fine.
Shori : But..
Shinichi : (places his finger on his lips) No buts. Ill always be your shadow.

Kiryuu Shori has been living alone since he was 10 years old. His parents didnt pass away nor did they went missing. They went out for a work but didnt come home since then. Shinichi who had known Shori since they were very very young decided to accompany Shori in that gigantic house up till this day.

NEXT DAY

Shori : Hamano!
Hikari : (turn around) Kiryuu kun?
Shori : Ill go out with you. (serious)
Hikari : (turns red)

Everyone around starts whispering.

Hikari : wht.... what the hell r you talking about!! Baka!!
Shori : eh? Tht I accept your conditions?
Hikari : (fully blush) Baka!!! If you dont know how to speak, dont speak (runs)
Shori : ah.... now what..

Shori turns and saw everyone looking at him while whispering to each other. He saw Shinichi, glaring at him.

Shori : ah..... yabai...

AFTER SCHOOL

Shori : (tugs Shinichi's arm) Gomen gomen Shin chan.
Shinichi : (continues to walk)
Shori : (bows) Gomen nasai.
Shinichi : ( stops and looks at Shori whose head is lowered) Shori. Look in front.

Shori lifts up his head and saw the board with HELENCIA PUBLIC LIBRARY written on it.

Shori : Library?
Shinichi : In order to know about something, u shld refer to the textbooks. So to know about Chrome we should search in the library.
Shori : (tears up) Shin chaan.

Shori and Shinichi enters the library. They went from one row to another row searching for any book that has any information about the Chrome and their history. The sky changes its color to orange - red. They had spent 2 hours in the library looking for something that they didnt find.

Shori : Sumimasen, is there any book that has anything about Chrome or its history.
" Sumimasen deshita. Any book that has any information about Chrome has been confisticated from all libraries by the Helencia Government."
Shori : eh? Why?
"Maybe because of problems that may arise. As u see, people uses Chrome users in a bad way. Taking advantage on thm u can say."
Shori : So we wont gt any information about Chrome anywhere?
"Sumi masen (bows) The original copy of books regarding Chrome can only be in the Castle."

OUtSIDE

Shori : (sighed) Guess its not easy to get information on Chrome eh?
Shinichi : (smiles)
Shori : ugh.. whts with tht smile Shin?
Shinichi : In the castle.. she said (little laugh)
Shori :(laughs)

Both of them laughed as if laughter is contagious.

Shori : sou da. Sou da. Its easier than we think actually.
Shinichi : The castle... eh?
Shori : (confident smile)

As they were walking down the road suddenly they heard the screeching sound of the tire of the car plus the car's honking. They caught sight of a girl with a long silk coloured hair by the road trying to cross the busy road. As she place her foot on the road way, a car came rushing. Shori tries his best to grab the girl off the road. Both of them came in cntact with each othrs body warmth.

Shori : Baka!!! Wht do u think ure doing?

Shori looks at the girl who's hair is disheaveled because of that rush. He felt sorry for her and he brushed her hair that covers her face to the side so he can have a better look on her.

Shori : (softly) Daijoubu.. ka?

She looked at Shori. Their eyes connected. Shori quickly turns his gaze away and stands up. He scratched his head and he helped her to gain her balance.

Shori : If.. if you want to cross the road, its better if u use the pedestrian flight over. There its just ahead.
"A.. arigatou gozaimassu.."(heads for the bridge)
Shori : Dou itashi.... mashite....
Shinichi : (looks at the girl)

Suddenly,

Hikari : Kiryuu kun! Fukushima kun!! (came running)
Shori : Hamano san. What r u doing here?
Hikari : Im waiting for my friend.
Shori : Friend?
Hikari : Sou sou. She's gonna be our classmate after the Sports Event.
Shori : why only after?
Hikari : hmm.. the rush of studying. Well see you two tomorrw. Jaa ne.

Chapter 3 : Chrome students

The news about Kiryuu Shori being the 1st year Executive Member spread throughout the school. It was said either in a positive way or in a negative way. As for his classmates it was not a suprise. Kiryuu Shori was always the top in the class, the brighest.

"Aaand, you always want to be amongst the Student Council nee Kiryuu kun?

Shori looks at her. Her face is glowing with her brilliant smile.

Shori : You're noisy Hamano.

Hamano Hikari,a very bubbly girl with her shoulder hair length which never fails to play its part in making her the most cheerful girl. The daughter of the famous clothes designer and one of the membera of the acrobatic club.

Hikari : Maa maa dont be like that Kiryuu kun. Your wish has just been accepted. (mimic a serious face) A first year student is in the Council. Kyaaaa!!Kakkoii Kiryuu kuuun
Shori : ugh... (disgusted) About me wanting me to be in the Student Council.. thts old story okay? For long I dont wish that anymore.
Hikari : eeehhhh~nandeeee~?
Shori : no specific reason.. really..
Hikari : Plus (winks) youre taking care of the Chrome students
Shori : thats the one part which i dont want to interfere in..
Hikari : (a sudden compose smiling face) Well, even if u lost the interest to enter the Council, think that this is a chance for u

Hikari moves her hand gently and softly in the air. The drink box that was on the floor suddenly rise up to the air and moves accordingly to Hikari's hand's movement. She then makes it moves towards the bin and the box fell inside the bin. Hikari looks at Shori.

Hikari : ... about us who are not Chrome users but can use magic. (turns away) Mata ne, Kiryuu kun, Fukushima kun.

Shori looks at Shinichi.

Shori : Gomen.. Shin..
Shinichi : Its okay Shori.
Shori : Will you always be with me?
Shinichi : Unless you turn me away.
Shori : (laughs) Why would I?
Shinichi : (starts walking away with a smile on his face)
Shori : Shin! Matte yo (chuckles)

Even though Shori was given the task to take care of the Chrome Students affairs, he still gives a cold shoulder to all of them especially to Asahina Mikan. Well, nothing can erase the past and his hatred for them.

IN THE CLASSROOM

"Hey guys, soon itll be the School Sports Event."
"Class president!!Please say something about this"
"Yeahh!! We're very excited"
Shori : ..haa..? (lazy) You guys know what you have to do...
"Mou Kiryuu sama. This is our first School Sports Event in high school. Of course we're excited."
"Yeah.. we only have been watching from the sidelines but from this year we will be participating in it"
Shori : ...okay... lets do our best and get the best position... (walks away)
"Kiryuu sama..."

Everyone in class were all feeling down because of Shori's cold attitude. He went to the blackboard and write down whats supposed to be written. The class were in a total silence, the screeching sound of the chalk pressing against the blackboard is thr only thing that can be heard. Hikari stepped forward and stood on the teachers place.

Hikari : Minna!!! Lets do our best for this year. We will definitely win the first position this year!!! (Energetic smile)

Everyone couldnt help but crack a smile on their gloomy face and they all cheered "yoshaaa". Shori turns and looked at Hikari who is gleaming with a smile.

During break time Shori had to hand some reports to the Council. There he met Koizumi Kyoya.

Kyoya : Arigatou Shori kun. As expected youre fast.
Shori : Here are the reports for my class. And this one is for the Chrome students. But I still havent met all of them.
Kyoya : But its easy to identify them. By their uniform. The normal students has blue stripes on their uniform while the Chrome students have green.
Shori : ah. Sou ka.. never notice that. (image of Asahina Mikan came in his mind)
Kyoya : Shori kun, youve been doing all the class work yourself right?
Shori : Hai. Because Im capable to do it myself.
Kyoya : I know that but you have to give other people the chance too. Give some work to the class assistant even if youre capable to do it yourself. Some people wants something though they dont say it aloud. Humans like to experience thing and life is to be enjoyed right? Though youre used to it but every year the experience and emotion changes. Try to create memories for others too. (smile)
Shori : Kyoya.. san..

AFTER BREAK

Shori places some notebooks on Asahina Mikan's desk. She looks at Shori calmly though she was quite shock in her heart.

Shori : Here, give these to them. You should at least know the names of your own classmates. And after the end of the 5th period, please gather everyones' books and hand to sensei. (walks away)
Mikan : .. guess you really cant do it yourself Mr President (smiles)
Shori : (head towards the front) Listen up guys! Our class will still remain as the blue team so we will be with Class 2-B and Class 3-C. We will try and grasp as much points we can. So anyone who's good at any sports please give your names to me or to Asahina. Then we will discuss on what event will we participate.

Everyone was amazed with Shori's sudden change. But they know that this is their old Shori that they knew. They smiled and cheered.

ON THE WAY HOME

Shinichi : Let me guess. Koizumi Kyoya told you something.
Shori : yeah. He really knows what and when to say something. (smile)
Shinichi : Good for you. (walks away) though im quite jealous.
Shori : Shin chaan. Youre leaving my shadow. (laughs)

NEXT DAY

Everyone is quite excited for the upcoming events though no announcement regarding it was announced.

Hikari : Kiryuu sama, will you join basketball game?
Shori : No ways. I have no time to play in games if I have to handle the Chrome students affairs.
"Ehh? Kiryuu sama, u wont? We can easily win if u and Fukushima participate though"
Hikari : Sou da wa. Thts wht Ive been thinking.
Shori : No is no. Ill be too busy.
"Fukushima!! Will u persuade Kiryuu sama. He's so damn stubborn"

The boys looked at Shinichi. Shori too looks at him.

Shinichi : If Shori participate Ill be in. If not, then no
"Ahhh!! Fukushima!!! You idiot"
Shinichi : (ignores)

One girl came close to Shori and said

"Kiryuu sama.. taihe desu wa.. at the corridor..."
Shori : ??

AT THE CORRIDOR

A boy with spectacles shoved another boy who is wearing the green striped school uniform.

"Move it. Filthy Chrome users. Dont think you can do as u wish in this school."

The Chrome tried to surpass his anger but he's sweating a lot. Plus his eyes kinda change colour to reddish. His clenched and looks at the boy who just pushed him off. Black ecriture which is also known as Chrome slowly surrounds him. The normal students stepped back.

"Oi oi.... dont.. you dare to use.. (gulp).. ure chrome here... ill...ill tell the teachers..."

The Chrome looked at him with a different eye. The eye that belongs to an animal who's ready to attack his prey. The Chome stepped forward and stretched his hand towards the student as suddenly
Shori came and withholds his arm. Shori looks at the Chrome sharply. Meanwhile Shinichi had already stretched his shadow towards him, preventing him from going forward as Shori dashed to snatch his arm earlier.

"Ki...kiryuu.."
"Hu...hah... (smug face) so youre the first year student who has to take care of the Chrome affairs, huh? What a brat. What the hell is the Kaichou thinking"
Shori : No violance is allowed in the school grounds. Whether it is Chrome magic or physical attacks.
"You should know what are the Chromes up to. Normal human wont just attack people ya know. Thts only the Chrome users. Who are actually animal inside"
"You bastard"(struggles to attack him)
Shori : (tighten his grip on the Chromes arm) Senpai, I wish you could stop provoking him. Or Ill take actions on you coz of switching on a button. (Serious) even if youre a senpai.
"Che." (walks away)

As that 2nd year students walks away, the Chrome user looses off and his knees fail on him. Shori croutched and Shinichi comes nearer.

Shori : Daijoubu desu ka, senpai?
"Im sorry.. and arigatou... i had almost lose control of myself"
Shori : Ii desu, senpai (smiles)

As Shori helps him to gain his balance again, he thanks Shori again for stopping him. Shinichi looks at Shori smiling at the Chrome user.

Shinichi : ........

Chapter 2 : I leave them in your hands

ASSEMBLY HALL

Principal : (giving a long speech welcoming new students to the school) As for this year, there will be a major change in this school. CTC and Helencia Gakuen has decided to merge as to build the enviroment of living together in this country. For the future generation which starts with yourselves, you shall be able to manage and conduct situation when you deal amongst each other. So to do that, we, the management team and..... (continues with the speech)

A student who sat close to Shori leaned to his ears and whispered

"Ne, what is CTC? Kiryuu sama?"

Kiryuu Shori gasped.. with the face full of shock. He looks like he was about to jump out of the chair but something just held his back. Of course, only one person can hold someone without even touching the person. Yes, it's him. The one who never leaves his side, Fukushima Shinichi.

CTC!!! screamed Shori's hot blooded heart.



"Eh!!!? Chrome Training Centre?"
" Yup, thats CTC. A place where all chrome users train how to control their chrome."
"Well, you can also its a like a school for Chrome users.."
"Life will be so much easier with them around. Lets just boss them around with their magic"
"No can do that. Their magic can only be used within this country only. Plus it was originally used for military purposes"
"Seriously?? So Chrome is actually a bad news?"
"Kiryuu sama?"

Shori is in a deep thinking ever since they came out from the assembly. He just stares out of the classroom window with Shinichi dozing off on his shoulder. The students started to run back to their places as the classroom's slides open. The teacher entered leaving the door open.

Teacher : Okay. As you heard from the Principal himself, there'll be Chrome student in this school. Unfortunately, there will be only one Chrome student in this class. Please come inside

A girl with a short hair and a different colour uniform entered the classroom. Her face hardly crack any emotion or feelings and her eyes is straight.

Mikan : Asahina Mikan desu. Yoroshiku onegai shimassu.
Teacher : I hope everyone will be kind to her and cooperate. Oh yeah, before I forget I would like to have someone to be the class monitor. So vote please.

"Kiryuu sama da"
"Sou desu wa. Lets choose Kiryuu sama since all of us are used to him"
"Hai. Agreed. He was our class president last year too"

Shori stood up and smile charmingly at the teacher.

Shori : As the class president I, Kiryuu Shori and the rest welcome you in this class, Chrome san. If you have any problem you can come and ask me, Ill be glad to assist you up to my capabilities. (sarcastic)
Mikan : It would be an honour to be assisted by a mere human. Thanks but my Chrome pride will not allow me to do that.

The atmosphere between both of them is tense. It is like the atmosphere between a lion and a tiger though both of them are smiling sarcastically.

ON THE ROOFTOP

Shinichi : Why did you accept to be the class president? Youll have to deal with more Chromes.
Shori : Im betting my future on this, Shin. If I cant handle one lousy Chrome here, I wont be able to manage my life with the Chromes outside.
Shinichi : Heeh. Very mature of you. You used to hate them
Shori : Well I still do.
Shinichi : (looks at Shori) Shori.. Ill be your shadow forever.
Shori : (smiles) Baka. youre already the shadow.

The class teacher made a suprising announcement during homeroom. He appointed Chrome Asahina Mikan to assist Kiryuu Shori is managing the class as the class assistant president. Even though her job is to assist Shori, he never make a space for her to enter. He would run the errand himself, pass out the printouts himself, gathering the books himself, managing everything by himself. Shori manages himself perfectly that she has no room to assist him. Well, not that she cares.

"Ne Kiryuu sama, lets join the basketball club."
"Yeah. Itll be fun like old days"
Shori : Sorry I cant. Remember I was in an accident. I still didnt recover 100%"
"Oh come on Kiryuu sama"
"If you enter, Im sure girls will come and flock around you"
All laughs together.

Mikan looks at Shori and his peer laughing.

"Ne, Asahina san. Please dont mind Kiryuu sama's attitude to you. He's an amazing person actually"
"Sawayakana hito desu wa"
Mikan : Not that I really care what you normal people are up to. But if you have no ambition for your future, youre nothing but a paper flower which decorates the room but has no benefits. (walks away)
".........."
"What is wrong with that Chrome? It doesnt mean that Chrome are any better than us just because they have Chrome magic..."

ON THE WAY HOME

Shinichi : So are you going to enter basketball club?
Shori : Nah, I dont think I can play like before. You yourself know that darou?
Shinichi : ......
Shori : nanda?
Shinichi : so, ure going to enter student council?

Shori halts.

Shori : Shin chan... what are you talking about? Student council?
Shinichi : (stares)
Shori : ugh.. thats old story. I dont want to mix up with people any further. Plus it has too much of work. I wont have free time.
Shinichi : ......
Shori : (hugs Shinichi) then you cant be my shadow anymore.. na?

As they were walking down the street suddenly a gang of yakuza appeared infront of them.

"Hey kid. I saw you yesterday. Youre the one who mess up our plans right"
Shori : I do not know any of you and I have no affiliation amongst you.
"Dont act dumb. Because of you he was caught by the polices."

Shori and Shinichi ignored them and pass through them. One of the yakuza cast his Chrome over the iron rod that he's holding and swing to to their direction. Quickly Shori reacted by grabbing a short rusty old rod and intercept the sudden attack. They fought in strength for a second or two and both the rods broke into half. The yakuza cast the Chrome magic but he suddenly couldnt move as of someone is restraining him from moving. He looked behind and saw his shadow stretched to Shinichi's direction. Shinichi pulled his right leg to the opposite direction and the man fell down.

"Le...lets go"

The yakuza flung his half broken rod to the direction of the eletric pole and it executed and the pole started to sway from one direction to another. The yakuzas ran away. Both of them wanted to run after them but something caught their attention. Asahina Mikan and few other girls from his class were just walking pass down the road. The electric pole sways and are about to fall on their direction. It may not fall on them but the impact of the fallen pole will definitely cause some damages on them. The pole has started to fall down. The creaking sound of the falling pole caught the girls attention and they stopped walking while locking their gaze on the falling pole. Asahina stepped forward but someone else was much faster than her. As the falling pole had reached the height of their head, Shori stretched his hand forward and as soon as the pole makes its touch down, some of its broken fragments flew within 360° area. The shops windowa nearby broke to pieces, the cars' windows. Mikan tried to use her chrome to protect the rest of her friends but she saw someone had cast a barrier of fire which destroys the fragment pieces that were flying around.

....not a chrome user but.... our school's uniform...??...



Shinichi : (angry) Baka Sho!!! Wht do u thnk youre doing? You can hurt urslf u know. Or even worse. Sometimes I myself have no strength to protect u and tht makes me feel bad.. (continues nagging while bandaging Shori)
Ken : (first time I hear Shin chan talks so much)
Shori : Shin...
Shinichi : (leans on Shori's bare back) so please... dont make me worry...
Shori : gomen Shin.

Shori looks in his both palms and he can still feel the heat of the fire that he release off. He gasped....

NEXT DAY

Shori : eh? I have to go to the student council room??
"Hai... someone told me to tell you tht.."
Shori : ....
"Is something wrong Kiryuu sama?
Shori : ah.. (smiles) nothing. Arigatou.

As the girl walks away, Shori looked at his palm again. Shinichi only watched him from far.

When Shori reached the Student Council Room, he was greeted by someone whom he had known since he was small, Koizumi Kyoya.

Shori : (excited) Kyoya saaan!!!
Kyoya : Shori kun, hisashiburi ne.
Shori : Haiii!! Kyoya san tte....?? Seitou kaichou?
Kyoya : (laughs) iie. Im just the fuku kaichou.
Shori : sou ka.. eh?? Fuku kaichou?
Kyoya : anyway, Kiryuu Shori kun. I have a request to ask. (Serious face)
Will you be the 1st year executive member of Student Council. Your main job is to take care of all Chrome students in this school.
Shori : ..eh?
